I want to thank everyone who has supported us over the years. Due to Covid we did not hold any prom events for 2 years and due to personal reasons we were not going to be able to host an event for 2023. I am unsure whether we will be back to hosting events in 2024 or not. It’s with that in mind that the decision was made to donate all the dresses we had in storage to The Giving Gown Foundation, so that they could find their way to deserving young women this year. The Giving Gown is located in Cypress and you can find out how to get your Senior a free dress on their website. They also accept donations at any Tide Cleaners location (just say it’s for the Giving Gown).

Things have been quiet here because of Covid but we still have lots of formal wear and want to help kids! If you know of a student who needs a holiday dress please let us know.

We are looking for volunteers to help with our Pop Up Shop at Yates HS on April 14th. Set up will begin at 9AM (kids shop 11-1) and take down will begin around 1:30PM. I also need people with SUV’s to help transport stuff to and from my home (Galleria area). If you would like to help them just let me know. I promise that it will be one of the most rewarding experiences you have.

As some of you know I took some time off to spend with my family but am now gearing up for prom season! I am accepting gently used, fashionable formal attire for both male and females at this time (if you wouldn’t wear it or let your child wear it then please don’t donate it). The clothing does not have to be cleaned (we have a sponsor) but it does have to be free from rips and stains. We are also accepting donations of accessories....high heels, men’s dress shoes, sample size perfume/cologne (ask the salesperson every time you buy cosmetics) and handbags. The small items go just as quickly as the clothing. Chic and Dapper is a tax exempt nonprofit and I can provide you with a tax receipt if requested.
All items are given for free! I make no money off of this business. If you are interested in volunteering then let me know. We hold our pop up shops during lunch hours at various high schools and set up/take down is a lengthy and tiring process. The smiles that you see on the kids faces while make it all worthwhile tho!

If only y’all could see their smiling faces! As you know, graduating High School is a huge accomplishment. So it’s fitting that every person should get to attend prom and feel special when doing so. Please consider donating your formal attire. If not to us, then to another organization that freely gives it away to economically challenged Seniors. We will begin accepting donations next week of gently used uniforms, formal attire, accessories and new cosmetics/perfumes.
I anticipate that we will hold at least 2 pop up “back to school” shops, 4 pop up “homecoming” shops and 10 pop up “prom” shops this upcoming school year.
We are also looking for volunteers.

Yesterday was our last Prom Shop of the season. If you know of a child who is still needing an outfit then you can email me at [email protected]. We are happy to look through our inventory for them. At this time we will be taking a 2 month hiatus to focus on our family. In July we will begin collecting uniforms to sell to HS students, for $1-$3 per item. The money collected will be used to buy clothing on an as needed basis throughout the year. We will be taking pants, shorts and skirts (khaki, blue and black), solid colored shirts: polo style or collared shirts (white, navy, red, grey, black and gold) as well as jackets, backpacks and tennis shoes. We ask that all items be damage free. Again, thank you to everyone who has so generously donated their belongings and time. If I could give you all the chance to see how happy the teens we help are to receive these items I would, as it is indescribable.

High School Seniors, come see us tomorrow at The Weekley Family YMCA for Pop Up Prom between 2-5PM. We have over 200 dresses and menswear items to distribute for free! You will need your student ID to get in.

Senior students from other area High Schools may begin arriving at 3:30. Same rules apply in regards to student ID’s.
