PJ Library Houston Area-Jewish Federation

PJ Library Houston Area-Jewish Federation Celebrating Jewish values & culture with families with children from birth through 12 years old.

Through the PJ Library Program, the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston reaches out to Jewish families with young children to help create stronger Jewish homes – homes that foster children’s curiosity about their Jewish heritage and help families explore their Jewish identity. Each month, PJ Library books are mailed to the homes of almost 1,000 Houston Jewish children, ages six months through six

years. Every time a PJ Library book is read to a child, Jewish connections are being made. Each participating child from age six months through age 6 who registers for PJ Library will receive a high quality Jewish children’s book or CD every month. Each book and CD comes with resources to help families use the selection in their home. The book and music list has been selected by the foremost children’s book experts and includes a wide array of themes related to Jewish holidays, folktales, and Jewish family life.

Join PJ Library this Sunday, November 2 at 4 PM for a music-filled afternoon with The Macaroons!

With their fantastic harmonies and catchy songs like “Billy Bagel” and “Hurry Up and Light the Candle,” this band brings pure, joyful fun for the whole family—think The Wiggles, only kosher!

As a special treat, The Macaroons will also share a reading of their delightful board book, Oh My Nosh!: What Shape is Your Bagel? This adorable, brightly illustrated story uses rhyme to introduce the youngest readers to favorite Jewish foods like blintzes, kugel, and even gefilte fish.
