One of the highlights leading up to our 2nd Annual ‘Kel Strong’ Foundation Gala a couple months ago was the opportunity to share our mission on Great Day Houston!

It was an honor to have our founder talk about his journey—from surviving a severe traumatic brain injury to founding the ‘Kel Strong’ Mabatah Foundation—and our mission to provide rehabilitation scholarships for individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries.

Special thanks to our class of 23’ Rehab Scholarship Recipient, Jorge, for sharing his story, and to our chairwoman of our gala committee, Kristi Hubbard, for joining our founder on the segment and doing a great job!

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported our 2nd Annual Gala. Because of your generosity, it became our most successful fundraiser to date, raising over $133,000, allowing us to make an even greater impact in the lives of those rebuilding after traumatic brain injury in the Houston community!

Thank you again to Deborah Duncan and Great Day Houston for helping us share our story, and thank you to every sponsor, donor, gala committee member, and attendee who made this unforgettable night possible. Together, we are proving that hope is stronger than adversity.

It was a true honor to be a part One Step Closer Foundation’s Celebrity Charity Poker Event this past weekend serving as a title sponsor!

It was a true pleasure to be a part One Step Closer Foundation’s Celebrity Charity Poker Event this past weekend in Santa Monica, California!

Special thanks to Jacob and The One Step Closer Foundation for inviting our foundation to be a part of what was a very successful fundraiser raising money to improve the lives of individuals who suffer from cerebral palsy along with various disabilities.

We enjoyed meeting all the individuals who were there to support a meaningful cause!

It’s been a few weeks since our unforgettable 2nd Annual ‘Kel Strong’ Foundation Gala and we are still grateful for everyone that supported and helped this be our most successful and impact gala yet, raising over $133,000 to help us continue to achieve our mission of creating a better future for individuals impacted by traumatic brain injuries by providing financial support for treatment and services on their journey to recovery!

To every donor, supporter, sponsor, attendee, gala committee member, THANK YOU!! We couldn’t have achieved what we did without each and every one of you!!

The ‘Kel Strong’ Foundation is just getting started. There is still so much work to be done to help improve others that have been negatively impacted by events that have changed their lives.

One of the most unforgettable moments from the 2nd Annual ‘Kel Strong’ Foundation Gala was our Fashion Show, where our incredible rehab scholarship recipients graced the runway with confidence, joy, and meaning!

These inspiring individuals have overcome unimaginable challenges, yet they continue to rise with strength and grace. Seeing them shine, smile, and own the moment reminded us all what hope and perseverance truly looks like.

This was more than just a fashion show—it was a celebration of courage, growth, progress, and the power of community.

We are so proud to walk alongside them on their journeys. Thank you to everyone who made this night so special. 💫 Special thanks to and for dressing our female and male models for the fashion show!

✨ Still speechless. ✨

A couple of weekends ago, we gathered for something bigger than ourselves—the 2nd Annual ‘Kel Strong’ Foundation Gala to support our ‘Kel Strong’ Rehab Scholarship Program—and the energy and compassion in that room was something we will never forget!

Together, we raised over $133,000 to support individuals impacted by traumatic brain injuries on their journey to reclaim strength, independence, and hope.

We raised more at this event alone than we raised in all of 2025 and this is just the beginning!! God is good 🙏🏽

The ‘Kel Strong’ Foundation had a record breaking 2nd Annual Gala the other weekend!!

Because of your kindness and generosity, along with the generosity of an individual who was so moved by what they saw and heard at the gala that they matched our total raised at our Inaugural Gala last year, which was $61,000, our total raised for this year’s gala reached an incredible over $133,000!!!

This special $61,000 gift was made in memory of Dr. Sh*tal Patel. The money raised will go towards the ‘Kel Strong’ Rehab Scholarship Program. This program helps individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries reclaim their strength, mobility, confidence, and independence through access to critical rehabilitation services and medical equipment, as was witnessed at the gala.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing scholarship recipients for attending and courageously sharing their stories.

And of course, a huge thank you to our generous sponsors, donors, gala committee members, and supporters who helped make this gala such a tremendous success. Your support is changing lives, and we are incredibly grateful!

Still trying to find the words…but our heart is full. ❤️

Yesterday we hosted the 2nd Annual ‘Kel Strong’ Foundation Gala — and together, we raised nearly $70,000 to support individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries!

This night was so much more than a fundraiser. It was a celebration of hope and perseverance. A celebration of second chances, and a celebration of what’s possible when people come together with a shared purpose.

The highlight of the night was our inspiring ‘Kel Strong’ Rehab Scholarship Recipients who were our models in a fashion show that left everyone in tears hearing their stories as they took the runway.

To every guest, donor, sponsor, volunteer-THANK YOU!! Your generosity isn’t just changing lives, it’s restoring hope.

Lastly, we have to give a huge thank you to our incredible gala committee as we couldn’t have pulled last night off without each and everyone of you!!

The ‘Kel Strong’ Foundation is just getting started. Let’s keep showing up. Let’s keep believing. Let’s keep fighting — together. Much more photos and videos from this amazing event coming soon!
