To all IMGs, COVID-19 represents a challenge and an opportunity to serve your communities and participate in patient care.

On Thursday, June 11th, Harris County announced a new color-coded system to inform residents regarding the current level of risk from COVID-19. Current it's Level 1:RED.

We are looking for volunteering oportunities for IMGs during this unprecedented time and we encourange you to do the same.

If we come across opportunities for IMGs, we will post it here. If you know of opportunities please reach out to us so ed can coordinate a response.

Thank you.

ECFMG President and CEO, William W. Pinsky, M.D., and colleague Dr. Mandeep Mehra of Harvard University discuss the work that ECFMG does and the important role that IMGs play.
You can view the video interview by Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology at https://www.dicardiology.com/videos/video-why-are-there-so-many-foreign-doctors.

We are happy to see how IMGs for Texas and ECFMG have the same vision and how we believe in the value IMGs add to U.S healthcare system.

We are proud to share the accomplishment of our coordinator: Jabnely Muñoz, who received the "Volunteer of the Year 2018, Bronze" award from our partner, Project HOPE.

This award is in recognition of her work as a first responder deployed by Project HOPE after "Fuego" volcano erupted in Guatemala last year.

Project HOPE is headed by Dr. Tom Kenyon, who presented Jabnely with the award in the headquarters of Project HOPE in Virginia.

IMGs for Texas is so happy for you Jabnely!!

Our Second Health fair of 2019 took place yesterday afternoon

TLM Baptist church have invited us this year based on our excellent performance as a vendor in their previous health fair (2018).

Alongside MD Anderson Cancer Center and Harris Health System, our IMG volunteers and team members had a productive day. The fair was about health education, vaccines, healthy lifestyle and raising awareness on health services, all while having live uplifting music band.

We informed our guests about warning signs and prevention of diseases and raised awareness about prostate cancer and quitting smoking and obesity.
There were exercise activities for the fair visitors, and it was the perfect frame to invite them to increase their physical activities, have a walking schedule, consume more veggies and promote healthy living. All our print materials were sponsored by MD Anderson Cancer Center.

At the end, we were excited that we shared all the information with our fellow Houstonians, and we are looking forward for more opportunities in the near future.

IMGs for Texas first health fair for 2019 ✅

Delivering on our mission to enable IMGs and the help the community.
IMG volunteers did an awesome job this last Sunday at our booth, being bilingual we educated attendees about cancer, smoking cessation and healthy living, using pamphlets provided by our partner, MD Anderson.

We had a great time teaching our younger attendees the advantages of avoiding smoking, how to eat healthy, and the importance of hygiene.

Health Fair Announcement
IMGs for Texas is kick starting 2019 with two health fairs.
We are partnering with Adventist Community services and other healthcare agencies to conduct two health fairs in Houston on 2/17/19 and 2/23/19.

IMGs for Texas volunteers will provide healthcare education to attendees. Other agencies on site will offer free healthcare screening.

This is a great chance for our members to educate the public about prevalent diseases and healthy living. Our healthcare education materials will be sponsored by MD Anderson Cancer Center.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers.
