Thanks to everybody who made the 2018 BoBI Retreat great! We met once again at the beautiful Arboretum. Many excellent and diverse talks - good science and great people, what more could one want!

I am so sorry to have missed the Annual BoBI retreat this year. It is famous for great scientific discussions, new ideas, camaraderie, and lots of generous and interesting people. I hope everyone had a great time and learned some important things about the mechanisms, ontogeny, adaptive value, and evolution of behavior!

A great Retreat at the Arboretum yesterday! A big Thank You to everybody who contributed!

Devanshi won the Grand Prize in Life Sciences and will now present her poster at both the Texas State Science Fair Competition in San Antonio and at the Intel International Science Fair in Phoenix, AZ. Congratulations to Devanshi Udeshi for performing so exceedingly well, and congratulations to Jen Myers for being such a terrific mentor!

Many Thanks to Cathy Rankin, a Professor from the University of British Columbia. On this past Wednesday, Dr. Rankin visited with BoBI members and gave a seminar on the genetic dissection of habituation mechanisms using Caenorhabditis elegans, a free living soil nematode. The talk was very exciting. Dr. Rankin also provided wonderful insight and career advice for our students. We all had a great time talking science.
