West Houston Animal Rescue is a non-profit rescue who is dedicated to finding loving homes for their dogs and combating Houston's animal overpopulation.

West Houston Animal Rescue is a 501(c3) rescue in Houston that strives to find loving homes for their dogs while promoting animal welfare. We attempt to keep our adopters and people who come in looking for a new pet informed about heart worm and flea medication as well as basic vaccines that will keep their new family member healthy and happy. We promote the modern mindset that a dog is a member o

f the family and should be treated as such and never be left outside alone in the heat or other inclement weather. We do all that we can to make sure our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on shots, current on heart worm and flea medication, as well as making sure any illnesses or health conditions are addressed as thoroughly as possible. Meet Lady the Husky! She is approximately 2 years old and was found by one of the vet techs at Nottingham Animal Clinic. She had an injury to her back end that resulted in a hip surgery and left her with a limp tail but none of that seems to bother her a bit. She is fully recovered now and miraculously heartworm negative, spayed and ready for her furever home! She would like to be the only fur baby in the home with someone who can match her energy. She loves kids and all people and is a great co pilot for car rides. She’s ready for any great adventure and would do best with someone who “gets” huskies! Message for more info!

Astro - 2-3 yrs old. Loving, sweet and friendly. He prefers to be an only dog so he can be the center of attention

Gwennie - PUPPY 5-6 months old. She LOVES everyone including dogs and kids.

Molly - 6 yrs old. Sweet and friendly. Shy at first but opens up. Super chill dog. Good with people, kids and dogs (a more chill dog that’s not very hyper). Hesitant with men but opens up in time.

Athena - 2 yrs old. She gets along with EVERYONE and loves EVERYTHING. She goes to doggy daycare. Best dog ever!

Sweet Molly needs a forever home!

~Molly is 6-7 years old
~Loves all people
~She is shy at first but will open up….treats definitely help 😉
~Loves kids (her foster human sister is 3 years old)
~She is super low maintenance and chill
~She gets along with other dogs and would do awesome in a home either as an only dog or with another calm dog (or semi calm lol)
~She’s house trained and up to date on all vetting

Oreo is GREAT with dogs, cats and kids. He is a young (we think about a year old) pup with lots of energy. He needs a home that has a secure fence and preferably another dog but not required. He would love an active family. He loves the water (as most labs do)! He loves everyone and everything. He is neutered and up to date on his shots and is currently taking bravecto for heartworm/flea preventative.

The current family that found him absolutely adores him but they don't have the space to give him the life he needs.

Please consider this sweet boy. He deserves a forever home!
