Zeta Chi Chapter was represented at the 2026 Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated’s Leadership Summit in Baltimore! Members participated in educational workshops, engaged in conversations to advance nursing and build healthy communities. Zeta Chi members bonded and walked away ready to take action in our local community.

As a reminder, during the Texas 89th Legislature Session, SB 912 (https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/89R/billtext/pdf/SB00912F.pdf) was passed, requiring all nurses to track continuing education (CE) prior to renewal.

As the Texas Board of Nursing is working on the implementation of this new requirement, here is what we know so far:

Starting in September 2026, you will upload your CE certificates within your Texas Nurse Portal (https://txbn.boardsofnursing.org/txbn). No extra logins or accounts to maintain. Best of all, no extra subscriptions or fees!

This new process will take some time to roll out. Initial development is underway, focusing on a module for nurses to upload copies of their CE certificates. Later phases of development will aim to create a way for approved CE providers to upload completion certificates on behalf of a nurse.

• Uploading your CE for previous licensure cycles is not required. For licenses renewed in September 2026 or later, you will need to upload proof of your CE.
CE requirements remain the same; licensees will need to upload their certificates (not just those audited). Make sure your CE is from an approved provider—check our list (https://www.bon.texas.gov/faq_education_continuing_ed_and_competency.asp.html ) to be sure.

Board staff will continue to develop some concrete information on this new process, including a step-by-step guide for uploading CEs within the Texas Nurses Portal. As more information develops, we will share it on our website, our social media page, and in our Quarterly Bulletin ( https://www.bon.texas.gov/about_newsletters.asp.html)

💚💛 Zeta Chi Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.® Gives Back! 💛💚 In partnership with Bay Area TurningPoint, we proudly hosted a Childhood Obesity Forum on Saturday, May 16th at the Quail Run Community Center in Missouri City — and what an incredible day of service it was.

✨ Over 75 children and adults received education, resources, and hands‑on activities focused on building healthier futures.
✨ Ten community vendors joined us, including The Fort Bend Library, Wellby Financial & Insurance Services, Trader Joe’s, i9 Sports, Fort Bend Mud 26 and Access Health, offering valuable information and support.
✨ Families learned about nutrition, participated in CPR instruction for adults and children, and enjoyed a variety of wellness activities.
✨ Everyone was treated to Italian ice, delicious lunch meals, and plenty of fun.
💃🏽🕺🏽 From line dancing to wheel barrel racing, the energy was high and the smiles were endless. This event truly embodied our commitment to education, empowerment, and community care.

Thank you to all partners, volunteers, and families who made this day meaningful. Together, we continue to uplift and strengthen our community.

A sincere thank you to all Zeta Chi Chapter members, guests, and supporters who joined us for our Annual Fundraiser at The Ensemble Theatre. Your presence and generosity truly made the evening unforgettable.
Guests enjoyed a special screening of “Who All Over There,” inspired by the classic Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner. We were also honored to present scholarships to members of the Zeta Chi Beta Chapter, celebrating their dedication and academic excellence.
