Samir was playing with his brother when an Israeli drone strike changed his life. When Samir woke up in Al Shifa Hospital after 12 hours of surgery, he learned that the attack had taken his right arm and left leg.

As part of FAJR Global’s Medical Evacuation Program, Samir was later evacuated to Amman, Jordan, to receive specialized medical care, rehabilitation, and prosthetic limbs. There, he began the long process of healing, adapting, and rebuilding after unimaginable loss.

Today, Samir has returned home to Gaza carrying renewed independence and the opportunity to move forward. His journey is a testament to resilience and a reminder that with access to the right care and support, a new chapter can begin even after the most difficult circumstances.

On Sunday at FAJR School 2, our team in Gaza brought Eid al-Adha celebrations to the students, with music, dancing, games, and entertainment. To mark the occasion, candy was distributed to the children as they celebrated the holiday together.

When Palestinian families were displaced from Gaza to Egypt, many lost more than their homes. They were suddenly separated from the people and routines that once made life feel familiar.

While online learning helped students continue their education, it couldn’t replace what happens inside a classroom - friendships, shared moments, and the simple feeling of being around other children.

Through FAJR Global’s education program in Egypt, in partnership with INARA, students found more than a place to learn. They found a space to reconnect, build friendships, and regain a sense of routine.

Today, many look forward to going to school each morning not just for class, but for the chance to play, connect, and simply be kids again.

Sabreen didn’t choose displacement or war. But every day, she chooses to keep going.

For many displaced Palestinian women in Egypt, the Karamah Program by FAJR Global and Taabu Club offers more than handmade crafts.

It is a community where women can slowly rebuild their lives, find support and a sense of belonging, and gain skills that help them provide for their families with dignity.

Here, resilience looks different. It means piecing together hope, healing, and income - one stitch at a time.

FAJR Global x Taabu Club
Karamah Program | Egypt | 2026

The impact of displacement doesn’t end when people reach safety, and rebuilding life takes more than meeting immediate needs.

FAJR Global is partnering with Taabu Club in Egypt to launch the Karamah Program, supporting displaced Palestinian women and adolescent girls from Gaza who are now rebuilding their lives in Egypt after war and displacement.

Many women have taken on new roles as the primary providers for their families, carrying the responsibility of supporting loved ones while navigating the challenges of displacement. Despite these realities, many continue creating beautiful handmade work from their homes.

Through embroidery, crochet, handmade crafts, and psychosocial support, the Karamah Program creates opportunities for both healing and economic empowerment.

Women are able to build skills and generate income, while adolescent girls are given creative and theater-based spaces to express themselves, rebuild confidence, and connect with others through art and community.

Karamah creates space for support, creativity, and opportunity, helping women and girls build stability, strengthen confidence, and take meaningful steps forward.
