It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Brother Frank M. Busch, Jr., who passed away last night at the age of 94.

Frank’s connection to Delta Sigma Pi spanned more than six decades. Initiated at Sam Houston State in 1961, he devoted a remarkable portion of his life to our Brotherhood as an educator, chapter advisor, national leader, mentor and friend. In 1998, Frank received Delta Sigma Pi’s Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor the Fraternity can bestow upon a Brother.

But awards and titles only tell part of his story. Frank influenced generations of Deltasigs. He spent decades showing up, giving back, mentoring Brothers and supporting the Fraternity he loved. His impact continues today through the Brothers he guided and even through a Delta Sigma Pi scholarship bearing his name.

Frank attended Grand Chapter Congresses across generations, and it seems especially fitting that Houston was his final GCC.

Few people truly embody the idea of being a Deltasig for life. Frank Busch did.

Rest in peace, Brother Frank. Your legacy and your commitment to our Brotherhood will not be forgotten.

25 years in the making, the Space City Alumni Chapter Scholarship Endowment is reaching an incredible milestone.

This year, the endowment will provide a $9,900 scholarship, and we are already on track for the scholarship award to exceed $10,000 next year.

This didn’t happen overnight. It started with alumni who believed in building something that would last. At the founding of Space City, Joelle and Jeff Berlat, Duckie and Derry Webb, and other dedicated alumni invested in a vision that future generations of brothers would benefit from decades later.

Over the years, countless donors have kept that vision moving forward. Leonard Bedell has been an especially strong and consistent supporter. More recently, Mark Leiserowitz and Roger Tienken have made significant contributions that have helped push the endowment to new heights. Monthly donors, including Sondra Jurica, continue to demonstrate how consistent giving can make a lasting difference.

To everyone who has donated over the past 25 years, whether it was a major gift, a monthly contribution, or whatever you could give at the time: thank you. Every contribution became part of something much bigger.
25 years of alumni investing in the future. $9,900 this year. Over $10,000 on the horizon. And a legacy that will continue long after us.

Together, we’re launching futures.
