There's a lot going on this coming weekend, so we've decided to cancel the June meeting.

BUT, we will be holding a social at Boheme next Thursday, June 11th, from 6-8pm.
We'll have light snacks available for free with drinks available to purchase.
Be on the lookout for an announcement, but add to your calendar now :)

Hi everyone

This past weekend Joe Panzarella was elected to fulfill the position of District C City Council member. He replaces Abbie Kamin and will be in office through the end of 2027.

Currently the next election is underway, which is party-specific runoffs for Primary Elections. Early voting is open this week only, through Friday at 7pm. Election Day is next Tuesday, May 26th, and voting centers will be open from 7am to 7pm. If you voted in the Democratic primary in March, you must vote in the Democratic party runoff. If you voted in the Republican primary, you must vote in the Republican runoff. If you did not vote in the primary, you are open to vote in whichever runoff you choose. Forty-eight locations are open for early voting. On election Day, Harris county will have 162 polling locations open. Thanks to everyone who came out to our social at The Marlene Inn (https://www.themarlene.com/) last week! It was great seeing everyone. And a special thanks to Lily Barfield for hosting us! If you haven’t been you should check it out soon. A great place for visitors to stay and a great place to host events.

We will be meeting Thursday, April 2nd, at The Women's Home at 607 Westheimer at 7:00.

We will have a special guest speaker this month – Barry Ward from Trees for Houston (https://www.treesforhouston.org).
Barry will provide information on how to care for your trees to keep them healthy and make sure they are ready for the Houston summer and hurricane season.

In addition, he will have some free trees available to hand out! (saplings)
These will be first come first served.

Avondale Cleanup this Saturday!

Hi Avondale. We'd like to invite you to join us on Saturday, February 21st to help clean up the neighborhood! We'll spend about an hour walking the streets and picking up trash and other items strewn about the neighborhood. Afterwards we'll have an informal social event on the patio at Cuchara. Join us to help keep Avondale looking it's best! Details below.

Date: 2-21-2026
Time: 10:00am
Location: Meet at Avondale Promenade Park
Tools: I have several trash grabbers and pairs of gloves to distribute, along with trash bags. But feel free to bring along your favorite tool as desired.

Afterwards those interested can join us on the patio at Cuchara about 11:30am.

Come on out and help us clean up the streets!
