"Freedom" is a word that gets used a lot. But what does it actually look like? šŸ•Šļø

At CHARM, we get to see it up close, and it doesn’t always look like what you might expect.

True freedom looks like a man getting up early for a job he never thought he’d have. It looks like a woman in a prison unit choosing to trust Jesus with what she can’t fix herself. It looks like a son asking forgiveness from a mother he hadn’t spoken to in years. It looks like a believer opening Scripture not because someone told them to, but because they are genuinely hungry for it.

Most of all, freedom looks like Jesus—living and active in the hearts of people the world said were completely beyond hope.

Through our prison programs and transitional housing, our goal is never just a release from incarceration. It is a release into something so much bigger: a life deeply rooted in Christ, surrounded by family, and pointed toward purpose.

Scripture promises that whoever the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36). At CHARM, we are dedicated to helping men and women step into that true freedom every single day.

Inside the CHARM transitional homes, every single day is a milestone. šŸ ā˜€ļø

Each day marks another step of freedom in Christ. It’s a steady, daily celebration of practical progress and spiritual growth, weeks of jobs worked, savings grown, families called, prayers prayed, and lives quietly transformed.

Our mission is built on the truth that every man who walks through our doors carries a profound need to be seen, heard, and supported. That is why we ensure "welcome home" is the very first thing he hears when he steps back into society.

Scripture calls us to be ambassadors of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:20). This isn't just a job for a few; it’s a calling that belongs to the whole body of Christ. It’s lived out every time a community chooses to pray, to support, and to believe that no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace.

At CHARM, we are committed to doing this work every day because we choose to see what God sees: a person worth knowing, and worth fighting for. ā¤ļø

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: Greyson Matte 🌟

At CHARM, relationships are at the very heart of everything we do. We don't just see a prison; we see people made in God's image who are worth getting to know.

For over seven years, Greyson Matte has embodied this truth as a faithful volunteer and a truly great friend to this ministry.

Whether he’s leading worship behind the walls or playing basketball with the guys, Greyson’s greatest gift is his natural ability to connect, spend time talking, and minister to the hearts of the men he encounters.

He is a true champion for the ministry. Not only does he show up for the vast majority of our events, but he also brings teams of men with him who are completely sold out to the Lord and bring an incredible passion for Jesus.

While we have a whole lot of fun playing sports and sharing meals, the greatest blessing is seeing why they come. Their commitment to the Gospel, the seriousness with which they take their faith, and their boldness in sharing it has been a massive blessing to our ministry and the men we serve.

Greyson, we are so incredibly thankful for your years of service to the Lord, to CHARM, and to our brothers behind the walls! šŸ™Œ

This Sunday, our team had the privilege of gathering with the women at Plane State to worship, study Scripture, and share the hope of the Gospel.

The message centered on three truths:
šŸ•Šļø Releasing control to the Holy Spirit
ā¤ļø Purity of the heart
🧠 Renewing of the mind

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."
Romans 12:2

Every woman in that room is worth knowing. Worth fighting for. Made in God's image and called into the freedom that only Christ can give.

A heartfelt thank you to our team for showing up, pouring out, and trusting the Spirit to do what only He can do. To God be the glory.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13

Their sacrifice is the truest reflection of the love Christ modeled for us. Today and every day, we are grateful for those who gave everything so that we might live in freedom. To the families who carry the weight of that loss — we remember with you. šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

Food. Fellowship. Worship. Testimonies. Baptisms.

Monday night, our CHARM family gathered around tables, around the Word, and around the waters of baptism — celebrating the hope of the Gospel at work in the lives of the men God is transforming.

We had the joy of witnessing Dewayne Bodden, David Saucier, Lejon Jefferson, and Jack Bose publicly declare their new identity in Christ. šŸ™Œ

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
2 Corinthians 5:17

We heard testimonies of redemption. We worshipped together as one family. And we celebrated four brothers stepping boldly into the hope of the Gospel.

This is the heart of CHARM. These are lives worth knowing and worth fighting for.

What a privilege it was to serve the staff and officers at Ramsey Unit this week.

We were honored to provide a meal, fellowship, and encouragement to the men and women who faithfully serve behind the walls every day. At CHARM, we believe ministry is for everyone inside the prison system—and we are grateful for every opportunity to remind people they are seen, valued, and loved by God.

This is where everything changed.

After years of second chances that didn’t last… David walked into a church with nothing left.
And that’s where he was seen.

He was introduced to CHARM — and for the first time, something was different.

This wasn’t just another reset.
This was transformation.

Men who understood him.
Leaders who had lived it.
A brotherhood built on accountability, truth, and love.

ā€œI’ve said and heard ā€˜I love you’ more in four months here than in the rest of my life.ā€

Today, David isn’t looking back.

He’s working. Growing. Walking with Christ.
And now he’s committed to pouring into others.

ā€œIt’s not a transitional house… it’s a brotherhood. A family.ā€

That’s the power of a real second chance.
Not just a new start. A new life.

Give today to fuel second chances for men like David @ charmprisonministry.org
