Melanoma is one of the fastest growing cancers in the U.S. and worldwide. Consider:

One in 50 Americans has a lifetime risk of developing melanoma
People under 30 are developing melanoma at an a

larming rate – the incidence soaring by 50% in young women since 1980
Melanoma is the most common form of cancer for young adults aged 25-29 & the second most common cancer in adolescents and young adults aged 15-29
In 2009, nearly 63,000 people were diagnosed with melanoma in the U.S., resulting in about 8,650 deaths
The American Cancer Society projects that nearly 77,000 will be diagnosed and 10,000 will die from melanoma this year
Every eight minutes, someone in the U.S. will be diagnosed with melanoma
Every hour of every day, someone will die from the disease

We apologize for being MIA lately but we continue to work behind the scenes. Today we had a request for a melanoma patient who is at the end of her treatment. She has been living with her daughter in Houston but is originally from the Philippines. Her wish is to fly back to the Philippines to be with her other children, grandchildren, family and friends and be surrounded by those she loves. Hi all. It's been a while, but we've been quietly working to continue to support others battling melanoma. But now we have a new request and we would love to seek some help from our support system.

A family in Texas needs our help. The head of household has stage four metastatic melanoma. His wife homeschools their four children ranging from 5-17. He is not able to work due to his cancer. We are seeking donations to buy grocery gift cards and funds to help with utilities.
