Morning Prayer Walk in Taytay Rizal, Philippines
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

What a fantastic project! We are so happy to support these fantastic women as they open their own businesses and support their families.

Last year was very exciting for us! We launched a microcredit program within our community to help the parents and guardians of the children we work with, to tackle their own poverty from a grass roots level. Business plans were submitted and small loans were then granted to 35 women based on the merits of their plans and former experience.

The businesses set up are as follows:
⭐ 6 ladies opened a small shop
⭐ 5 ladies are raising cattle
⭐ 9 ladies are selling freshly brewed coffee
⭐ 4 ladies are selling breakfasts
⭐ 11 ladies are selling vegetables, price, charcoal etc.

One year has passed, 12 parents have repayed their loan fully, 20 have one month to go to reach repayment and the remaining ladies should be repaid in two months. A brilliant start to our initiative, helping parents to help themselves and their families

I finished! Early this morning I made the decision to shift to the half marathon - a smashed toe and a very tight hamstring urged me to honor my body and so I did. That's really the point, isn't it? To honor all bodies as sacred space in which the Spirit of the living God dwells. If we would do that there would be no human trafficking or oppression and abuse of people. So I honored my body and did what I could and it was enough. In fact I'm proud of me and of all of you who supported me. Thank you! Great job everyone! Did I reach my goals? No but I made a significant step toward them. It's doable and so we regroup and keep stepping toward it. We will get there - we'll run throughout the year until we do.
