Christ Church Cathedral, one of the EAC's valued member congregations, highlighted the important work of the Emergency Aid Coalition at their annual Rally Day celebration on August 30th. Organized by Elizabeth Cuevas, Minister for Community Life, parishioners donated all supplies and assembled more than 300 hygiene bags for EAC clients. The support of congregations
and volunteers makes the EAC mission possible. Thank you to everyone who made this wonderful event possible!

The individuals who work at the Emergency Aid Coalition come from a variety of backgrounds, much like our clients. Each staff member is dedicated to making the EAC safe and successful, emphasizing compassion and promoting self-sufficiency. They keep the vision of the EAC in mind - that everyone in our community has the food, clothing and other basic needs to provide for themselves and their families. Thank you for working hard to help others every single day

The EAC Board of Directors is comprised of 15 caring individuals, representing our member congregations or the community at large. Board members meet regularly and are responsible for the overall governance of the EAC. However, many of our Board members are hands on, working directly with EAC clients in a variety of ways. We thank you for your service!

Walk-ups can also refer to clients who arrive for services without booking ahead. The Emergency Aid Coalition offers walk-up appointments every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Offering walk-up appointments is vital for low-income individuals because it removes some major barriers to receiving food and clothing assistance. People experiencing poverty often lack reliable transportation, have rigid work schedules, or don't have a phone with which to make an appointment. Walk-up days allow Houstonians in need to receive the help they need, right off the bat. When life throws someone a curveball and they need a little help, the Emergency Aid Coalition is ready to step up to the plate. Your support and donations allow us to hit it out of the park every time!

In partnership with Second Servings, the EAC held its first Pop-Up Grocery at EAC South, located at the Presbyterian Shool Outdoor Education
Campus. The campus sits adjacent to New Hope Housing on Reed Road, allowing New Hope residents to walk over and shop for an assortment of food
items rescued from local grocery stores and retail food outlets.

No small feat!
After learning that socks are the most requested clothing item at homeless shelters, the founders of Bombas Socks created a company designed to resolve this problem. Bombas donates a pair of socks for every pair purchased. The socks are donated to community nonprofit organizations like the Emergency Aid Coalition. The EAC is the lucky recipient of 8,000 pairs of Bombas socks! Our heartfelt thanks to Richard Jackson for making this donation possible.
EAC clients will be delighted to get a pair of these speciallyengineered
socks. Unlike retail pairs, these donation socks cannot be bought. They feature
dark colors to hide dirt, antimicrobial treatments to stay fresh longer between washings, reinforced seams for durability, and a looser fit to accommodate
different body types
