This is good information about “standing dentals”

Check it out! From 6 yr old Shih Tzu.
This dog had Non-Anesthetic Teeth Cleanings every 6 months since 1 year of age. Owner came to us (I worked at a veterinary dental specialty clinic) after seeing blood in food bowl. 18 teeth were abscessed. Owner was devastated because she thought she was doing what was best for her dog. This picture shows that the crown was clean but, the real problem was below the gumline. The danger of this type of cleaning is that the owner thinks the teeth are clean but, the infection is hidden. Cleaning below the gumline and dental X-rays can only be done under anesthesia. Education to pet owners is so important!

Meet Lola! A friend of ours rescued a possible sighthound terrier mix and reached out to us for help with finding her a place. For health reasons, they can’t continue to foster her and so this lovely young dog is looking for a home or foster home. She’s in the Missouri city area.

Chi Chi’s family has found her! Happy Adoption to Chi Chi, now Astrid! We are so, so happy for this precious girl who waited a long while to be chosen. Chi Chi was given a photo shoot with pet photographer Robyn Arouty, and her new photos on Petfinder caught Aurel and Alan’s attention! They sailed through the adoption application process and came to Houston to meet her. They left with a wonderful addition to their family and have sent us photos and updates as she’s become integrated into their family and showing more of her personality.
“We’ve had the best first week with Chi Chi, who we’ve renamed Astrid. She is so sweet and we see new bits of her playful personality each day! I can’t tell you how happy we are that we adopted her and can give her a forever home. We’re so in love with her. Including some pictures from this past week - I can’t get over how adorable these 3 are!”
We’re so thankful to all the volunteers who had a hand in loving and caring for Chi Chi during her time with us, and to Aurel and Alan, who knew that opening their hearts to a senior girl would mean opening their home to a wonderful life together. Welcome to your forever family, Astrid!

She’s not just a dog — she’s the reason your furniture has perfect sun-beam prints.
Meet Chi Chi 🐾 — an 11-year-old Chihuahua-Italian Greyhound mix who believes she was personally crafted by the sun. She takes her sunbathing duties very seriously and has strong opinions on which patch of floor gets the most rays.
She’s polite enough to get along with big dogs, little dogs, and even cats — basically, everyone who knows how to add themselves to her nap schedule. She’s not aggressive — just professionally selective when meeting new men (give her a minute, she’s warm-blooded, not warm-instincted).
This lady has never had an accident in the house, uses the dog door like a civilized adult, and sleeps through the night like it’s her job (and she’s excellent at it). Couch lounging? Bed cuddles? Silent night cuddling at 3 AM? Yeah, she basically invented that genre.
If loving sunshine and sofa naps were Olympic sports, she’d have more medals than your refrigerator can hold.
