She’s not just a dog — she’s the reason your furniture has perfect sun-beam prints.
Meet Chi Chi 🐾 — an 11-year-old Chihuahua-Italian Greyhound mix who believes she was personally crafted by the sun. She takes her sunbathing duties very seriously and has strong opinions on which patch of floor gets the most rays.
She’s polite enough to get along with big dogs, little dogs, and even cats — basically, everyone who knows how to add themselves to her nap schedule. She’s not aggressive — just professionally selective when meeting new men (give her a minute, she’s warm-blooded, not warm-instincted).
This lady has never had an accident in the house, uses the dog door like a civilized adult, and sleeps through the night like it’s her job (and she’s excellent at it). Couch lounging? Bed cuddles? Silent night cuddling at 3 AM? Yeah, she basically invented that genre.
If loving sunshine and sofa naps were Olympic sports, she’d have more medals than your refrigerator can hold.
Swipe right on real-life comfort & class. She’s low-drama, high-chill, and absolutely fabulous at being a companion of distinguished taste. 🛋️☀️

Darby (previously Maggie), who found her forever home through HHIGR a year and half ago, is thriving with her new family.

Her mom, Cinda, shares, "Darby is loving our activities and is doing very well. Training continues every day. We love her very much! Thank you for bringing her into our lives."

UPDATE: ADOPTED!!
This beautiful, timid girl is 2-3 years old and has already been spayed by the shelter. She’s still a little loopy in these photos, but sharing them hoping someone will want to go get her for adoption or rescue. Thank you to Marina for getting to the shelter to take photos and help her find a home.

Y’all Chi Chi has been in our rescue since 2023 and her foster family have done a wonderful job with her and love her so much. But they are moving out of state in two weeks and can’t take her with them. We hoped that she would find her forever home before the move. But if we can’t find her forever home, she needs a new foster home. Can you foster or adopt her? She has a wonderful personality and is house trained and has the energy of a younger dog. Senior Italian Greyhound Lola is lost in Houston in the Near Northside area. Her owner is sick with worry and doesn't have people to help her put Flyers up. When she isn't playing with her foster brother and sisters or sunbathing in the backyard, Chi Chi loves to spend her days snoozing on her favorite pillow. This sweet girl is still looking for her forever home.

This little girl is ready for a family! Precious Twyla is about 10 months-old, and 21 lb. This black beauty is fully vetted and ready for the next steps in her life. Twyla was labeled as an Italian greyhound mix at the shelter, and we’re pretty sure she’s got some terrier in her mix, too!
She has a really sweet, typical puppy, playful temperament. She loves her foster family’s 8-year-old daughter!
Twyla is a superstar at her house training! Her foster family says she’s had no accidents! She’s doing well with her crate training, which is great at night, and she is learning doggie social skills. Twyla has got a lot of energy and would do well with a family that wants an active dog and has time to teach her all about life off the streets! Please help us find her a home.
