Four years ago, CBS launched its Athletics program. Today, more than 40 student-athletes are pursuing a quality Christian education while competing in NCCAA Division II. Because CBS does not offer athletic scholarships, NIL funding, or transfer portal incentives, support from friends like you helps make this ministry possible.

This Saturday, we will celebrate an incredible milestone as the College of Biblical Studies honors the Class of 2026 at our Houston Commencement Ceremony.

Behind every cap and gown is a story of perseverance, sacrifice, faith, and purpose. Many of our graduates balanced careers, family responsibilities, ministry, and life’s challenges while remaining committed to completing their degree. Their journey is a testament to what is possible when determination meets God’s calling.

As our graduates cross the stage, they’ll be stepping into their next season equipped to make a lasting impact in their churches, workplaces, communities, and around the world.

For 25 years, Dr. Loken served at the heart of CBS—helping launch our bachelor’s degree program in 2000 and faithfully leading as Senior Professor and Chair of the Bible and Theology Departments. A devoted scholar and teacher, his deepest love was always for Christ and the authority of God’s Word, and his passion was equipping men and women for Christian service. His influence reached far beyond the classroom and will continue to bear fruit through the countless lives he touched.

We rejoice in the confidence that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8).
