Early support can open doors before school even begins. Families do not have to wait to seek answers, services, or support for their child’s development journey.

The Texas State Board of Education will vote on a required reading list proposed by the Texas Education Agency for grades K-12 in June. The list, which includes passages from the Bible, has been criticized for being too long, outdated, and lacking diversity.

Now, the TEA is asking for feedback on its contents. The public comment period opened on May 15 and runs through June 15.

Early support can change the trajectory of a child’s life.

Child Find is about recognizing concerns early, asking questions early, and connecting children and families to support early. Families do not have to wait for a diagnosis or for a child to “fall behind” before seeking help.
