I have a really cool activity this Thursday in Galveston working with UTMB to teach harmonica to patients in the Pulmonary Harmonica Therapy program there. The idea was suggested by someone here on Facebook, so despite my cynicism, I am happy to say I’m able to take something good from all this madness. To top it off, I didn’t want to go into a serious medical program without earning my stripes so I took a CE course online at Texas State University and got my certificate in Music Healing and Sound Therapy that’s accredited with Allegra Learning Solutions. I’m kinda proud of it. It’s all a part of a bigger goal to do deeper, more meaningful work in music creatively as well as what I contribute to my community. Anyway this is a new beginning for me. I’m sure I will be leaning on the nurse practitioner this Thursday so I can do this respectfully and effectively.
