Houston Flute Club hosts a special master class by Leone Buyse, exploring solo flute repertoire! This class is open to all adult flutists not currently in college, and auditors are also welcome!

Attendance is FREE with registration for HFC members, and $10 for non-members.

The class will run from 2:00-4:00 PM, followed by a social hour from 4:00-5:00 PM.

In the brief performance application, include your top 2 choices of repertoire (unaccompanied solo pieces or orchestral excerpts) you would be willing to perform in the class. We recommend selecting from the following list when applying, but other pieces will be considered.

You are cordially invited to participate in this year’s HFC members recital! Participation is first come, first served and the recital will be a maximum of two hours with an intermission (including transition times). Must be a current member of the HFC to participate.

Selected repertoire must be less than 20 minutes of music.

Chamber music (duets, trios, quartets, etc) are also welcome, as long as at least one member of the ensemble is an HFC member.

All participants must procure their own pianist if their chosen piece is accompanied. The HFC will not provide a pianist, but can recommend some if you are interested. Please email [email protected] .

The recital will take place at St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church on Saturday May 9 from 2-4pm.
If you have a time conflict and need to play earlier or later in the program, please indicate so below.

The Houston Flute Club’s Flute Choir, under the direction of James Marioneaux, will be presenting their Spring Concert on April 26th at 2:00 PM. Enjoy music played on 4 types of flutes – piccolo, C-flute, alto, and bass! If you missed their performance at Flute Fest, now is your chance to hear their program for FREE!

Location is St. Thomas Episcopal Church’s sanctuary, 4900 Jackwood St. in Houston, and the parking and concert are FREE!

Enjoy music by Mozart, Strauss, Arnold, Coleridge-Taylor, PLUS an original piece composed by the Flute Choir’s own Linda Wiley!
