Klays For K9's

Our Alumni had a great time helping out our friends from K9 Officers at their annual sporting event "Klays for K9s" at Westside Sporting Grounds this weekend.

The K9 Officers organization has donated several of our four-legged friends over the years to many law enforcement agencies including our very own Precinct 5.

These K9's have gotten millions of dollars in narcotics off our streets as well as protecting deputies in difficult and dangerous situations. These dogs have helped deputies keep our streets and communities safe.

What a great weekend at Lone Star Safety Fest! Alongside with multiple first responder agencies and safety partners, we answered questions, shared information and tips about staying safe and prepared.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by our table and got a chance to take a look at our mobile incident command vehicle. It was great seeing so many families come out to enjoy the demonstrations, activities, and safety resources put on by the Lonestar Safety Fest celebration 10 years.

Another productive meeting in the books!

Our alumni group recently came together for a general meeting as we prepare for the end of the year and everything that comes with it. We discussed upcoming events and some plans for finishing out the year strong.

We also took some time to prepare for our elections next month. We appreciate everyone who continues to stay involved, share ideas, and help make our alumni association a strong supporter of our law enforcement community.

Sign Up Before It's Too Late For Citizens Police Academy

We still have a few spots available for Precinct 5's next Citizens Police Academy, one of the most popular programs offered by the department.

This 10-week course provides our "cadets" with a behind-the-scenes look at Precinct 5, going through much of the same training that our deputies receive while also being able to discuss in depth what is taught. Questions and conversations are encouraged as we move through the course, from use-of-force to arrests, fi****ms training and driving in a real patrol car on an emergency vehicle operations course.

The upcoming class will be held once a week, usually on Thursday evenings, starting on October 1. Most of the classes will be held at our Precinct 5 Command Station, 17423 Katy Freeway near Barker Cypress.

🇺🇸 We Will Never Forget 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to honor the lives lost, the heroes who stepped up without hesitation, and the families forever changed on this day 25 years ago.

As we remember, let us also renew our commitment to unity, resilience, and compassion. The legacy of 9/11 reminds us that even in the face of great loss, our strength as a nation comes from standing together.

May we continue to honor the legacy of those we lost by living with courage, compassion, and unity.

Making a Difference! 🩸

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to the Donor Coach to donate at today's Gulf Coast Regional Blood Drive at Precinct 5
Command.

Every blood donation has the potential to save multiple lives, from those undergoing surgery to others facing serious illnesses, maybe even someone you know and love. Because of your generosity, you helped ensure that blood will be available for patients in our community when they need it most.

Together, we're making a difference-one donation at a time.
