🎒🐝 Tomorrow is the day! 🐝🎒

We are excited to welcome hundreds of students and their families to our 6th Annual Mochilas for Bees at Benavides Elementary!

What began as a simple dream to support local students has grown into an annual tradition that continues to make a lasting impact in our community. 💛⚾ The greatest gift isn’t what we bringit’s the opportunity to keep showing up.

For the past 5 years, we have returned to the Dominican Republic with one purpose: to continue supporting the communities and young athletes who have become part of our Courage to Bee family.

Every visit reminds us why this work matters. We spend time with the players, their families, and the coaches who pour their hearts into helping these kids build a better future through baseball. The smiles, hugs, conversations, and dreams shared during these visits are what fuel our mission.

What many people don’t realize is that this league receives no government funding and no local organizational support. Yet despite the challenges, these young athletes continue to show up every day with determination, discipline, and hope.

Our goal has never been simply to donate equipment. It has always been to invest in people, create opportunities, and remind these children that someone believes in them. As we continue sharing stories from this trip, we hope you’ll see not only talented baseball players, but courageous young people with incredible potential.

Thank you for following this journey and helping us make these athletes visible to the world. Together, we are proving that when a community comes together, lives can be transformed.

The story continues… 🐝⚾💛

⚾🐝 🇩🇴What you water grows.

This week, The Courage to Bee, Inc. had the privilege of visiting our Sports for Bees program in the Dominican Republic, a program we started more than five years ago. Seeing how far these young athletes have come is a powerful reminder that when communities invest in children, incredible things happen.

One of the most remarkable things about this program is that this league receives no government funding or local organizational support. For more than five years, The Courage to Bee has been the only organization consistently investing in these athletes, their families, and the future of this community.

From improving facilities and building a batting cage to providing uniforms, equipment, training resources, and now a professional radar gun, every advancement has been made possible through the generosity of our supporters. What began as a simple commitment to a group of young athletes has grown into a life-changing program that continues to create opportunities, inspire dreams, and help talented players reach levels they once thought were impossible.

During this visit, we donated a professional radar gun an important tool that will help athletes and coaches track performance and continue preparing players for the next level.

Some of the very players we have supported through this program have gone on to be drafted by MLB organizations, and we could not be prouder. This new equipment will help provide the real-time feedback they need to keep developing their skills, pursuing their dreams, and writing their own stories of courage and perseverance.

Most importantly, we spent time with the players, their families, and the community that continues to make this program so special.

To everyone who believes in our mission and supports our work thank you. Your generosity is helping create opportunities that change lives. And to all of our baseball lovers, we hope you’ll join us one day as we continue growing this incredible program and investing in the next generation of athletes.

Behind every great impact, there’s a partnership that made it possible.

Yesterday, we received a powerful check presentation from Turner Construction Company & Turner Foundation an investment not just in our organization, but in the future of our communities and our little Bees 🐝

This moment is a milestone for The Courage to Bee. It’s proof that when the right people believe in your mission, real impact happens.

Because of this partnership, we will continue expanding our programs, reaching more families, and creating opportunities that truly change lives across Texas.

A special thank you to Kristy Bumber for believing in us from day one and championing our mission every step of the way 🙏

✨ This is only the beginning.

🐝✨ Volunteers Are the Heartbeat of The Courage to Bee ✨🐝

We are beyond honored to share that The Courage to Bee has been officially nominated for the 42nd Annual Governor’s Volunteer Awards for our contributions to Texas education and volunteerism.

This recognition reflects the collective impact of every single volunteer who has given their time, talent, and heart to serve vulnerable communities across Houston, McAllen, and surrounding areas.

Our Sports for Bees Program in the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 just celebrated its 4th Annual Sports Awards Ceremony 🥇, and what an incredible milestone it has been.

For three years now, our partnership with the Hernandez League has been nothing short of amazing. Together, we have witnessed growth, resilience, and dreams turning into real opportunities.

Today, our Bee athletes are training in a brand new batting cage built by The Courage to Bee, made possible thanks to our amazing sponsor Koala Kare. But that’s not all. This ongoing partnership has provided brand new uniforms and essential resources so these young athletes can continue pursuing their ultimate dream one day playing in the MLB.

Since we began working with the Hernandez League, two of our players have been signed to MLB leagues. This is a huge advancement for the league, for the community, and for these families. It reflects the dedication of the coaches, the discipline of the athletes, and our deep commitment to creating lasting impact in vulnerable communities filled with extraordinary talent.

We are so proud of our Dominican Bees. 🐝
And this is only the beginning.

We have so much more we want to accomplish for our athletes. Please join us in congratulating every single one of these students for their hard work and commitment.

If you would like to join our Dominican Sports for Bees Program, please reach out. We have amazing projects in the works and would love to connect with baseball lovers who want to make a meaningful impact in young lives.

It takes a hive to build champions. 💛⚾🇩🇴

WE DID IT! 💻 🧒 🛜 🇭🇳

READ ALL ⬇️

One year ago, we officially opened our second international project in rural Honduras 🇭🇳 in the beautiful community of Maraita, Francisco Morazán.

In 2025, we made a commitment to the school and the local government of Maraita: we would work together to make the school better. We promised to build a Technology for Bees classroom and bring reliable internet access not just for one school, but as a foundation for surrounding schools in the area.

Fast forward to January 2026… and today, that promise is a REALITY!

Thanks to the incredible efforts of the local government of Maraita and our Gold Sponsors and Koala Kare , we have officially opened Phase One of our Technology Classroom.

✨ The entire school has been remodeled
✨ A brand new technology classroom
✨ 10 brand new iPads
✨ 15 laptops
✨ AC installed
✨ Reliable high-speed satellite internet powered by Starlink

Before we met this community, the school had no AC and no access to modern technology. Today, these students not only have computers they have a beautiful, dignified learning space designed for opportunity.

It truly takes a village to lift communities. Our hive showed up. The local government showed up. Our sponsors showed up. And together, we made it happen.

Phase Two is coming soon as we complete the classroom with brand new furniture, and our long-term goal is to install AC in every single classroom on campus, and expand to new rural schools, which is already in the works!

This is what impact looks like. This is what partnership looks like. This is what happens when vision meets action.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of our trip, including our Mochilas for Bees activity, where every student received backpacks and school supplies, oral hygiene checkups and more! to start their year empowered and prepared. 🐝✨

🎒 Community Programs in Houston

⚾ Sports for Bees – Dominican Republic 🇩🇴
We proudly continued our Sports for Bees program in the Dominican Republic, sponsoring local athletes and supporting the incredible work being done to uplift youth through sports, discipline, and opportunity.

None of this would be possible without every volunteer, donor, partner, and sponsor who believes in our mission. Your generosity and trust helped us uplift the most vulnerable and strengthen our communities locally and internationally.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making 2025 a year of real change.
Here’s to continuing the work, expanding the impact, and creating even more opportunities in 2026. 💛
