Golden Butterfly Bakers

Golden Butterfly Bakers Love on the least, the lost and the marginalized via the gift of quality baked goods to remind them that they have not been forgotten.

Provide high quality baked goods to homeless organizations, transition and half-way housing facilities, and prisons (via the Karios ministry) as a tangible expression of God’s grace and love. When God has blessed us with the passion and joy for baking, He actually had others in mind. Our target audience for the baked goods is the homeless, incarcerated, marginalized and forgotten. The baked goods

are prepared by passionate volunteers and freely given to the recipients with no expectation of return or recognition. We are selective with our ingredients and preparation methods and we strive for excellence in everything we bake. All of the baked goods will be made by volunteers in a rented or leased certified commercial kitchen under the direction of Jan Vogel. All of the ingredients, supplies and materials are provided via the Golden Butterfly Bakers private operating foundation. All of the baked goods are donated to the targeted organizations at no cost. Core Values:

• God-given, Jesus-centered, Spirit-led tangible expression of God’s grace and love to those who may not know or remember Him.

• God blessed us with the gift of and passion for baking in order that we may be a blessing to others. We will respect and honor the recipients by providing consistent high-quality baked goods made with the best ingredients, flavored with prayer, love, and joy.

• We are passionate volunteers experiencing heaven on earth by doing what we do best: baking audaciously delicious cookies and goodies with lots of love, laughter and creativity.

Golden Butterfly Bakers is Honored at the Mission of Yahweh 2026 Mission Luncheon

Golden Butterfly Bakers was honored to be presented with a plaque that recognized our “unwavering love and dedication” to their mission. To say we were touched by this honor would be an understatement. Everyone at the banquet received a box sample of our cookies packaged in our labeled bag to let the recipient know that “In Jesus’ Name We Bake for You!”. The Mission of Yahweh is one of our long-time recipients. We love the hugs and appreciation we receive when we make the cookie and biscuit deliveries every Tuesday. Seeing one of the resident children smile when they bite into one of our cookies melts our hearts every time.

Trees of Hope is Golden Butterfly Bakers latest recipient! They are receiving 400 cookie bags each month. Trees of Hope hosts Snacks & Goodnight on the second Tuesday of every month for the residents living at the Star of Hope Women and Family Development Center. Snacks & Goodnight is an opportunity for volunteers and organizations to come in and provide the residents with a fun snack while getting to spend time and connect with them on a personal level.

Trees of Hope transforms lives through fundraising and outreach activities for the exclusive benefit of children’s programs at Star of Hope, via their Children’s Critical Care Fund. Their mission is transforming the lives of children at Star of Hope.

Elijah Rising, a human trafficking rescue organization, told us: “During outreach, one of the women asked ’Did you bring the Jesus cookies? I really need one right now.’ She found the cookie she wanted, thanking us over and over. We told her that these cookies are made by people whom God has called to bake specifically for her...people who love her like God does because He sent us to her that night.”

In addition to the regular nonprofits we serve, each spring and fall Golden Butterfly Bakers is blessed to provide table and forgiveness cookies for seven Kairos weekends in Texas. Each Kairos weekend receives between 155 and 300 dozen assorted cookies, resulting in almost 40,000 cookies donated

None of this growth would have been possible without the blessings of the amazing volunteers and generous donors who believe in our mission and stand alongside us in sharing the love of God with Houstonians in desperate situations. Happy 5th Anniversary Golden Butterfly Bakers! We pulled the first batch of dough out of the mixer on April 8, 2021 and we were off on a great adventure. Golden Butterfly Bakers stands alone as the only non-profit organization in the Greater Houston area solely dedicated to providing baked goods to homeless and recovery organizations, and human trafficking and youth rescue facilities to foster hope and emotional healing. Daily thousands of Houstonians face homelessness, recovery from gripping addictions, and/or trafficking, struggling with feelings of loneliness and low self-worth, believing they are defeated and outcast. Golden Butterfly Bakers want those who are navigating these challenges to know they are honored, accepted and loved. During the last five years we have grown substantially serving this community. In 2021 we baked and donated about a thousand cookies per week to three recipient nonprofit organizations. Today we bake and donate about 320,000 cookies, muffins and biscuits per year to 14 Greater Houston nonprofit service providers. Over 5,000 individuals receive these gifts of love from our kitchen.

Happy 5th Anniversary Golden Butterfly Bakers! We pulled the first batch of dough out of the mixer on April 8, 2021 and we were off on a great adventure. Meet our newest and youngest volunteer Aria!  She is 6 and in Kindergarten. She came to the kitchen with her Mom Guo. She was a real trooper when it came to scooping cookie dough. We love having the youngsters in the kitchen
