September is Su***de Prevention Month—a time to remind one another that there is hope, help, and support available. No one has to face difficult moments alone. Reaching out, listening, and connecting someone with support can make a difference.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

Mindfulness can be a simple way for kids to slow down, check in with themselves, and stay connected to the present moment.

From mindful breathing and stretching to noticing sounds, sights, and feelings, small activities can help children build healthy coping skills while making mental wellness part of their everyday routine.

Talking about mental health with kids isn't always easy. Creating an open, supportive space where children can share their feelings helps them understand that their mental health matters—and that it’s okay to ask for help.

Start the conversation, listen without judgment, and let them know they’re never alone.

How can you make mental health a more comfortable topic at home?

As students head back to school, it's important to remember that depression in teens doesn't always just look like sadness. Changes in mood, irritability, withdrawing from friends, falling grades, or losing interest in activities can all be signs that someone may be struggling. Checking in, listening without judgment, and seeking support can make a difference.
