Thank you Shantel Watson and Operation HOPE for volunteering and providing decorations for this event. Since 2019, Shantel and I have been partners, building community alliances, warming hearts/bringing smiles to peoples faces and truly assisting those in need during vital times- not just during Christmas 🎄.

Fully embracing the holiday spirit of ‘giving back’ and being festive is rewarding and fun! For several hours, we listened to music, ate donuts, laughed, saw all of the gifts donated, and had the privilege of choosing the holiday themed paper, lovingly wrapping/labeling each child’s gift and securing with a colorful bow.

✨Highlights✨

1. Meeting the President and CEO, DeJuana Jernigan- her motto is “Made for Mission.”
2. I held my 1st gift wrapping tutorial. The two men volunteers admitted they never wrapped gifts. They left knowing how to wrap gifts 🎁.
3. We received a social media acknowledgment.

Save the flier and come prepared to wrap gifts. You can bring wrapping paper/bows, Christmas bags/boxes or just arrive prepared to help.

Want to dedicate your time and volunteer during Thanksgiving? Sign up through eventbrite and assist local nonprofits that come together and serve the communities.

✨Operation Turkey✨

You do not have to eat alone or purchase your meal. Numerous places around the Houston area are providing free cooked dinners. Just show up hungry and be ready to have a nice time.

✨75th Annual HEB Thanksgiving Parade✨

View attached map. Go line the streets and partake in the free historic event featuring Grand Marshall Carl Lewis, a nine time Olympic gold medalist, alongside 21 balloons, 19 floats and six local marching band entertainers.

✨Volunteering Day✨

Serving with Rotary Club of The Woodlands, making an impact, having fun and we cleaned up after the event!

Rise Against Hunger is growing a global movement to end hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives and responding to emergencies.

✨Food Insecurity✨

These boxes go to the hardest places to reach and difficult to access and designated ‘serious’ on the Global Hunger Index. Volunteers put love into each bag and box.

The community helped package thousands of nutrient rich food boxes to be put directly in the shipping containers for their final destinations- into homes to feed families.

Don’t want to talk? Take Action. Step out and start volunteering. Help the homeless, assist the elderly, feed the hungry through food banks, animal shelters always need an animal lover to volunteer, and helping others WILL boost your mood.

Trennie Henry is the Founder of a new transitional living home that provides safe housing and supportive services that empower individuals to transform their lives.

Our very own Operation HOPE Program Director Shantel Watson sourced furniture to fill the new transitional living home and delivered the items with volunteers.
