Today we take a moment to honor and remember Ms. Homles, one of our Breakin Khainz survivors whose life and strength left a permanent mark on our hearts. Though we lost Ms. Homles a few years ago, her courage, resilience, and spirit will never be forgotten.

Ms. Homles was more than a survivor. She was a symbol of strength, perseverance, and the power of choosing to rise despite the pain of the past. Her story reminded us why this work matters and why we continue to fight every single day for those still searching for bridge to rebuilding their lives and healing.

At Breakin Khainz, we carry the memories of the survivors who trusted us with their journeys. Ms. Homles will always be a part of our mission, our purpose, and our legacy. Her strength continues to inspire us to break chains, restore hope, and stand beside every survivor who needs a voice.

Today we remember Ms. Homles with love, respect, and deep gratitude for the light she brought into this world.

So many of you have shared with me that you want to learn how to enter into "public speaking" telling your stories in a powerful way without the discouraging feelings, without the fear and without the shame that tries to silence your voice.

Now is your chance!! I told you I am coming

I’m opening a space where you can learn everything I’ve learned about speaking with confidence, clarity, and purpose. A space where you can finally release the fear of your past and step into the truth that we are not what happened to us. Building your confidence to know you are all so much more than the pain you’ve carried.

In this workshop, we will meet once a week both virtually and in person to build your confidence, strengthen your voice, and sharpen your delivery. Whether you want to speak for empowerment, motivation, or as a survivor leader, this experience is designed to help you rise above fear and step boldly into your purpose.

Alongside our writing workshops, we are now offering public speaking development workshops focused on:

🎤 Building self‑confidence
🗣 Strengthening your voice and presence
✨ Overcoming fear and shame through guided practice
🌱 Transforming your pain into purpose
🔥 Delivering your story with courage, clarity, and power

We’ve been quiet, but not still.
Breakin Khainz has been putting in real work behind the scenes building partnerships that bring true hands-on experience and industry-level production skills directly to our underserved dreamers, survivors, and youth here in Houston. Our next move for our community is our best move.

Today, we’re proud to share that we’ve officially partnered to create a pathway where our community can learn to tell their own stories not just through words, but through cameras, scripts, sound, and real production training with A Tone Productions. We are also working with many other organizations and partners across Houston.

🎬 Writing workshops that help our people reclaim their voice.
🎥 Hands-on production training for those ready to step into film, media, and creative careers.
🌱 A community development program designed to help survivors, youth, and underserved individuals grow personally and professionally side by side and so much more

Learn to tell your story through speaking, writing, art, and even film no more pouring out and being left to pick up the pieces. Tell it with purpose and power your way.

This isn’t just about filmmaking.
It’s about healing.
It’s about opportunity.
It’s about giving our people the tools, skills, and confidence to thrive creatively, emotionally, and economically.

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month

Human trafficking does not always look like what people expect. It doesn’t always begin with force. Often, it begins quietly during moments of instability, unmet needs, isolation and even manipulationin relationships or survival. It shows up in everyday places, within familiar routines, and in communities where people are already carrying heavy burdens.

Trafficking thrives where silence exists. Where questions go unasked. Where warning signs are overlooked. Many individuals impacted never identify themselves as victims they are simply trying to get through the day, trying to survive circumstances that slowly become control.

At Breakin Khainz, we acknowledge this reality. We recognize how exploitation intersects with trauma, economic hardship, lack of resources, and limited support systems. Awareness is not about shock value it’s about understanding how easily vulnerability can be targeted and how often it goes unnoticed.

This month is a reminder to stay informed, to listen more closely, and to remain attentive to what is happening around us. Awareness creates space for intervention, support, and prevention even when action feels as small as paying attention. If something feels off, it probably is. Trust that instinct.
Information saves lives. Awareness opens doors to safety.
