Rice EA supports the efforts to remove William Rice's statue from Rice's campus. William Rice owned 15 slaves and envisioned a white-only campus*. William Rice does not represent current nor future Rice students, and if the university wishes to be on the right side of history and cares about the wellbeing of black students, they should remove the statue as soon as possible.

Hey y’all! The EA Fellowship Weekend is a virtual networking event for anyone currently participating in an EA Fellowship Program, as well as previous fellows. The event is March 26-28 and the application is due March 8 at 11:59pm PST (https://cea-core.typeform.com/to/MoQD9Jkp). (Note: you don't need to be there the whole weekend - just for whatever events you want.)

You will have the opportunity to create 1-to-1 connections between fellows from all around the globe. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in live networking events and meet professionals working at organizations in the EA community.

The Rice EA team has made a lot of great connections (friendships and career professionals) through online events, so we highly recommend it for anyone who is participating or previously participated in our EA fellowship!
