Freaky Friday Tip: Start the Year by Redefining Your Rules!

Sisters, it’s 2025, and this is YOUR year to break the mold! Freaky doesn’t just mean wild; it means bold, unapologetic, and transformative. Here’s your advice for starting the year off with a bang:

1. Be Selfish About Your Goals!
Stop dimming your light to make others comfortable. Write down your dreams (the bigger, the better), and take one “freaky” step every day to make them real. This could be finally saying "NO" to what drains you or starting a side hustle you’ve always dreamed of.

2. Date Yourself First!
Love starts with YOU. Set the bar high for how you treat yourself. Want fancy dinners, spa days, or love notes? Start by giving them to yourself. When you respect your value, so will everyone else.

3. Invest in the Glow-Up
Freaky is leveling up in ways nobody sees coming! Take that class, hit the gym, or upgrade your wardrobe. Confidence isn’t just in how you look but in how you OWN your space.

4. Learn Something "Freaky" New
Push your boundaries with something you’ve never done:

Financial Freaky: Learn about investing, saving, or building a business.
Health Freaky: Try a bold fitness challenge or switch to that clean diet you’ve been procrastinating on.
Creative Freaky: Pick up a skill like dancing, painting, or writing that lets you express your inner fire.
5. Set Freaky Boundaries
This year, we’re NOT tolerating drama, low-effort energy, or excuses. Being freaky means protecting your peace, so cut the dead weight and surround yourself with people who inspire and uplift you.

Sisters, this year isn’t about fitting in; it’s about standing out. Be freaky, fearless, and fabulous in everything you do. Remember: Confidence is the new sexy, and discipline is the ultimate flex!

What’s your freaky move for 2025? Let’s hear it in the comments!

ROSEMARY!!

Rosemary is an aromatic herb that is used as a flavoring in a variety of dishes, such as soups, casseroles, salads, and stews. Rosemary is often paired with chicken and other poultry, lamb, pork, steaks, and fish, especially oily fish. It also goes well with grains, mushrooms, onions, peas, potatoes, and spinach.

*Cooking With Rosemary*
Rinse fresh sprigs of rosemary under cold running water and pat dry. Recipes usually call for whole leaves, which are easily removed from the woody stems. Whole sprigs of rosemary may be added to stews and meat dishes.

Rosemary is most often used to season meats, especially lamb, pork, and chicken. Chopped rosemary can be added to bread or biscuit dough, and the flavor will infuse throughout during cooking. Potatoes, beans, and lentils also pair well with rosemary. Rosemary can be quite potent and is therefore usually used sparingly.

Because both fresh and dried rosemary can have a tough, pine-needle-like texture, it is usually chopped or crushed with a mortar and pestle before adding to recipes. Sprigs of rosemary with the stem intact can be added to soups and stews and then removed prior to serving.

To remove the leaves from a rosemary stem, simply pinch the tip of the stem and pull back toward the base and the leaves should easily pull away. The leaves are usually then chopped further to prevent using large, tough pieces of the herb.

Koose is made from peeled beans blended with scotch bonnet and onions, it is seasoned with salt and deep-fried. It can be eaten as an accompaniment with breakfast or eaten as snacks. I love to eat mine with akamu, porridge or Agege bread. This recipe can be made vegetarian or vegan

WATERLEAF

Waterleaf is a good source of calcium, magnesium, potassium, vitamins, crude protein, alpha-tocopherols, beta-tocopherols, total lipids, and essential oils
It is rich in minerals, amino acids, and ascorbic acid, which helps prevent scurvy. Waterleaf is rich in indigestible fiber, which aids in digestion.

Waterleaf has chemopreventive activity against colon and breast cancers due to its squalene content (Kristine et al. 2015). Waterleaf may also have the potential for regulating cardiovascular diseases such as stroke and obesity.

Waterleaf can serve as a part of a weight-loss diet due to its high fiber content, and its leaves are used to treat several diseases.

WELLNESS WEDNESDAY

For the sake of your mental health, have some ME TIME ❤️

Have some "me time"
Many of us work long hours, meaning we often don't spend enough time doing things we really enjoy.

It's important to take some time for socialising, relaxation or exercise.

You could try setting aside a couple of nights a week for some quality "me time" away from work.
