“Everything changed once she understood herself.”

One participant in Adulting 101 shared that after learning more about her personality, strengths, and communication style, she finally felt more confident helping others understand her too.

We believe that when adults with autism or other neurodiversities better understand themselves, they can begin discovering where they thrive, what support systems help them succeed, and how to build greater confidence and independence.

That kind of self awareness can be life changing.

Late registration for Adulting 101 is still open, but enrollment is closing soon.

Today, we were incredibly honored to welcome Lindsey Kasprzak, Founder & President of the Apricity Foundation, to Project Beacon.

The word apricity means the warmth of the sun in winter, and that definition could not describe today any better. Lindsey and the Apricity Foundation brought warmth, hope, encouragement, and generosity into our space with the gift of a $20,000 donation to support the life-changing programs happening at Project Beacon every single day.

Because of partners like Apricity Foundation, we are able to continue creating opportunities, experiences, support systems, and meaningful connections for the individuals and families we serve. Their belief in our mission reminds us that community impact happens when compassionate people choose to invest in others.

We are deeply grateful for Lindsey’s heart, vision, and commitment to making a difference. Thank you, Apricity Foundation, for shining light on our mission and helping us continue to grow, serve, and inspire

Many families worry about whether their adult son or daughter will be prepared to successfully navigate adulthood with confidence, independence, and the practical skills needed for everyday life. Parents want peace of mind knowing their loved one is becoming more capable, prepared, and confident for the future.

That is why we created Adulting 101.

This life skills program for adults with autism or other neurodiversities was designed to help participants build greater confidence, communication skills, routines, independence, and practical real world readiness through hands on learning and interactive activities.

Topics include:
• budgeting and money management
• meal planning
• paying bills
• job readiness
• communication and self advocacy
• healthy habits and routines
• social and community engagement

Our goal is to help participants feel more prepared, capable, and confident as they move toward greater independence and long term success while giving families greater peace of mind about the future.

Spaces are still available for late enrollment.

“ I want the adult with autism or other neurodiversities in my life to be able to live independently… but I don’t know where to start. ”

That’s the conversation we hear every week.

Adulting 101 was built to answer that exact question.

https://projectbeacontx.org/adulting101/

In just a few weeks, participants begin building real life skills around:

Managing money
Exploring career paths
Building daily routines
Understanding what it takes to live on their own

This is not a lecture. It is structured, coach led, and focused on real world application.

We have a few spots left and the program begins this week.

If independence is the goal, this is where to start.
