The updated forecast for Friday shows temps staying below 30° all day. The most brutal part of the day will be 6AM when temps will be in the middle teens, with feels like temps near zero. Dress in layers if you have to go out! And don't forget that hat and gloves.

Hello everyone, hope you’ve all prepared for the hard freeze and unusually cold weather we will be experiencing over the next few days. In addition to protecting outdoor pipes, plants and pets consider also filling one of your bathtubs with water.

One of the lessons learned two years ago was that city/county pumps stopped operating when power went out. Along with frozen pipes and depleted storage tank reserves due to everyone dripping their faucets overnight, the water supply for many across the state was interrupted.

If a repeat of this happens, the extra water in your tub can be used to flush toilets etc.
