Our largest attended event thus far, it was great to not only cover a wide variety of topics affecting the LQBTQ+ and Jewish communities, but also ways people can be involved in making the world a better place.

Happy Tu BiShvat! It is a Jewish holiday marking the birthday of trees. There are a few reasons why this knowledge is important, but in modern times it has become more of a Jewish Arbor Day - Community Service. QJews did a kosher sedar yesterday thanking G-d for the different kinds of fruit we are provided and discussing the symbolism of the seasons.
🌳 For many of the participants, this was their first TuBiShvat Sedar! And that is what QJews is about, providing a welcoming and open community for Houston’s q***r Jews and Allies. We hope to see you at the next event 😊

Today is International Holocaust Day of Remembrance. If you do not have a strong Jewish connection to the Holocaust, I think we can all empathize with human suffering and being in one, or more, marginalized groups.

Last night was an amazing night of great discussions that I hope will translate into action to make the lives of the LGBTQ+ and Jewish community better by repairing damage, showing there is hope, and ideas on actions to take to build a better world.
