We're going to add a pickup work day to October and do some more cleanup and bed prep this Saturday, October 26 from 8-10am.
This is all in preparation for fall planting and we can use any and all help!

Thank you to all our volunteers who made it out today, what a fantastic morning working in the garden! We were blessed with amazing weather and a group of 15+ wonderful people of all ages willing to share their Saturday morning in service. Many hands make light work and that proved to be true as we cleared 7 of 21 beds in preparation for fall planting.
A huge step on the path to helping feed our community!

Summer is winding down (on the calendar anyway) and we’ve got the schedule of up coming Fall 2024 work days through December!

Come join us in the garden and help feed those in need from 8-10 am on the following Saturdays:

December 7

Amazing bell pepper picking this evening, 87.5 pounds of green deliciousness headed to the Clear Lake Food Pantry!

We’ll be in the garden this Saturday from 8-10am picking more peppers, tomatoes, and green beans. Join us and help feed our community!

Good morning!

A quick reminder that we have our April work day this Saturday from 8-10am, we hope to see you there!

Looking ahead, we have one more Spring work day in May before we head into summer: Saturday, May 20 – 8-10 AM

As harvest time approaches keep an eye on our page for opportunities to help pick vegetables during the week.

A belated and huge thank you to everyone who donated to the garden and picked up seeds and plants during the plant sale last month! The almost $250 raised will be used to by new and stronger trellises and fenceposts for the garden. Walden Garden isn't possible without the help and generosity of our church and volunteers, thank you!

Planting day is this Saturday!

THIS SATURDAY is a Walden Garden work day! Come out and help us care for our vegetable garden, which supports the Clear Lake Food Pantry! If you don't mind getting dirty, join us for our next workday tomorrow from 8-10 am.

Huge Thank You to UBC’s VISION Weekend and the eighth-grade crew that tackled 6 yards of soil and compost and prepped 16 raised beds totaling 1,344 square feet to get ready for spring planting.
All of their hard work has set the stage for tomatoes, potatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers and green beans in the next week! Thank you!

Summer's over and we're overdue for an update here so here goes!

THANK YOU to all the amazing volunteers who served in the garden this summer, braving the heat! We had wonderful turnouts on our work days, additional help during the weekdays, a fun morning with the kids and adults of KJOY, and support from the Couples Corner men's group.

As we head into the fall, it's worth noting we've had the pleasure of delivering 875 pounds of cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, beans, peas, and okra to the Clear Lake Food Pantry since January 1!

And speaking of fall, we're ready to finish clearing out summer and plant our fall crops so the need for help continues! Here are the rest of the primary work days for 2022, all Saturdays:

September 24, 8-10am
October 15, 8-10am
November 19, 8-10am
December 10, 8-10am

We'll have callouts between those days as well to meet specific needs.

Thank you again to all the volunteers for their hard work. None of this would happen without you!

REMINDER! We’ll be in the garden this evening (Tuesday, May 17) harvesting more potatoes from 6-7 and need your help!

A huge Thank You!! to our faithful volunteers for their work this past Saturday harvesting 12 lbs of cucumbers and 120 lbs of potatoes! All of this was delivered on Saturday to the Clear Lake Food Pantry!

We’ve got a lot more to harvest over the coming days and weeks; potatoes, tomatoes, green beans, and cucumbers are ready with peaches not far behind! Hope to see you in the garden!
