Our family and friends are a mighty group. Let me share something that just happened.

Just got a call from Angela. The mother of one of the families that we sponsored during Thanksgiving of 2022 and 2023 and Christmas of 2022, she called us back before Christmas of 2023 saying they were in a much better position and to pass the blessing to another family.

Today’s call was to let us know that their son has been completely cleared of cancer and she wanted to thank us for the Santa Clause visit. Her son spoke about it to his doctor yesterday and still remembers that Santa paid him a special visit to him at home when he was sick.

Yup, I cried, but this is why we do what we do. It’s a lot of time commitment with finding the right families and vetting them, the specialized shopping, route management, finding other people willing to donate and volunteer but moments like this make it worth it.

We are starting to look at Back to School and how we can help our local schools.
We have a goal of 200 children to help with back-to-school supplies - who can help? Let us know and we will coordinate pick-up if you can’t drop it off. As always donations are accepted.

Hope comes in many forms, you just have to look for it. When we started AGC our goal was to give back by spreading hope and love in our community. With the help of our caring sponsors we have been able to do just that.

No, it’s not laundry day at the Santillan’s. This is just one shopping trip for the kids that our organization and sponsors adopted for the holidays. We are focusing on necessities and needs. We will have an opportunity coming soon to donate new jackets to complete our goals.

These are just a few moments captured today. From disabilities, to children battling cancer, grandmothers taking care of their grandchildren, widows, victims of severe domestic violence, forgotten seniors, children with trauma, families of 6 or 8 sharing a 2 bedroom etc. today was indeed hard on our hearts. Walking into homes with no furniture but full of love was yet again another reminder of the “why”. We were met with so much gratitude and genuine smiles. The best part is the feeling of faith and hope for not being forgotten. It takes a lot of planning to pull a day like today off but our Santillan crew pulls together to make it work. We were all over Houston sharing stories, tears and laughter. Yes, it takes an emotional toll on all of us but we wouldn’t change it for anything.
