Begin the Islamic New Year with the blessed recitation of Surah Al-Mulk.

Hazrat Jabir رضي الله عنه narrated:

"The Prophet ﷺ would not sleep at night until he recited Surah Al-Mulk and Surah As-Sajdah."
(Sunan al-Tirmidhi 2892)

It is also mentioned that whoever recites Surah Al-Mulk upon sighting the new moon will be protected from hardships for 30 days, In Sha Allah. These 30 verses will suffice for him for 30 days.
(Tafsir Rooh Al-Ma'ani, Vol. 15, p. 4)
