As April (Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month) wraps up, I wanted to give a shout out to some really great mentors we have had lately...
On March 17th, Keith Harris and Bryce Magee teamed up to help kids age 3 - 6 years old play some baseball! This encouraged the younger kids to put effort in their game and be just like them! Both are someone to watch on their Highschool baseball teams Clear Falls and St. Pius!
Then, Weston and Connor got to spend some time on the fields with the founder of Nubability Athletics, Sam Kuhnert and Eric Gaffney who both are professional adults who work actively to encourage, inspire, instruct limb different youth to follow their dreams on and off the fields. Eric is also a Pilot and Author of one of our favorite books Airick Flies High. He played competitive baseball and is an excellent coach too!
We also got to drop in on a Tony Memmel performance at Nottingham Elementary school, which inspired Weston once again to Never Give Up!! We hadn’t seen Tony play music in person, since we arranged school and church visits in 2021! Weston loved telling Tony all about his baseball since he played too!
To wrap it all up, Weston and I were featured one one of the most inspirational and faith based podcasts I have listed to called Above & Below Podcast. What a power duo Camron Ayala & James E. Dixon are. It was fun and informative, while Cam and James gave Weston some great confidence in his game and keeping up with Athletics as he grows.
You all are the best, and this has meant the world to us and all of the kids that joined us from the NLT Crew!
