I decided to start Buddy’s Blankets in memory of my precious Buddy, who became so sick and spent over a week at GCVS in the Critical Care unit. I would bring Buddy a clean soft and fuzzy baby blanket every time I would visit (3 times a day) and just leave the old ones for them to wash and reuse however, they needed. One day while lying in his hospital bed with him I noticed that the other fur pati
ents didn't have soft cozy covers, they just had towels. I decided to start Buddy’s Blankets and sew fuzzy, soft blankets for these critical care units. I'm sad to say our Buddy lost his fight on Sunday morning, the 18th of September 2016, surrounded by all his family. Thanks to the staff at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists for the care they provided to Buddy and our entire family, you see his blankets that I brought that morning were not clean and the staff quickly got one of his blankets washed and dried and brought him to us wrapped in a warm blanket to say goodbye. It meant so much to our family that they did this for us and for our precious Buddy! The only way I knew to cope with our loss was to honor Buddy and make blankets with his little logo on them and donate them to Veterinary Teaching hospitals, Rescue Organizations and Veterinary Specialty Hospitals all over the country in Buddy’s memory. He was my little shadow and I was just lost without him. If you want to donate fabric (fleece, or soft and fuzzy material) I'm happy to take it. Just contact me with your information.
