Here’s what attendees who interested in improving speaking skills in various area can expect day-to-day.

These four days will focus on improving confidence and clarity while sharpening public speaking skills. Through this immersive, virtual experience youth and adult attendees will gain practical tools to apply in real time, ending each day with interactive activities. Speak Week concludes with a Speaker’s Showcase for attendees to display their sharpened skills learned throughout the week.

Everyone enjoys being out of school for winter break and the festive season…but many families depend on local community events to make their holidays brighter.

Four Reasons Why Youth Service Projects Are Necessary During the Holidays

1️⃣ Intentional acts of gratitude and kindness
With the holidays comes countless opportunities to service the community, through toys and fun to preparing hot meals,

2️⃣ Connecting with like minded peers.
It’s great for young people to socialize with their peers in service settings that are exciting and developmental. This helps develop networking skills with peers and connect on common service interest like climate control, mental health, human rights, education, justice reform….to name a few.

3️⃣ Unplugging from their realities to see someone else’s.
We practice empathy best outside of our comfort zones. While many have holiday plans with families and friends, young people deserve an opportunity to step beyond their everyday routine and comfort zones to learn about others living through not-so-joy holidays.

4️⃣ Develop an understanding of grassroots service.
You cannot be a successful leader if you’ve not served the people you’re leading. No matter how smart you are or how well written your strategy is drafted, sweat equity is required to learn service.
