Today is the day—and we’re officially SOLD OUT! ⛳️✨

A heartfelt thank you to our Swing Fore Literacy underwriter, Synergy Home Care of Lincoln, for their support and belief in this work.

Their commitment to helping close literacy gaps in Omaha reflects the kind of community partnership that makes lasting impact possible. Because of supporters like Synergy Home Care, we’re able to continue expanding access to high-quality literacy support for the students and families who need it most.

We’re so excited to gather today with a community that shows up, gives back, and believes in the Right To Read mission.

Too many families are never told why their child is struggling or what kind of instruction actually helps. Without the right information, the right questions, and the right support, years can pass before a child receives the help they need.

A child’s reading future should never be decided in kindergarten.

Through our Right To LEAP -Literacy Enrichment & Advocacy Program- we support families with reading intervention and advocacy so they can better understand their child’s needs and confidently advocate for the support they deserve.

If you’re concerned about your child’s reading progress and want to learn how we can help, reach out to connect with our team.

When you look at these moments, we hope you don’t just see pictures — but can sense the responsibility we carry to show up prepared, to advocate when it’s uncomfortable, to teach with intention, and to support families with honesty and care.

This work is extremely personal for us. Every child we serve deserves thoughtful instruction, real expertise, and adults who truly believe in their potential — especially on the hard days (for both the adults and students!).

Right To Read exists because strong literacy support shouldn’t be rare or dependent on luck or the school students attend. It should be accessible, consistent, and done well. We’re committed to carrying that responsibility with integrity.

If you are interested in learning more about how we support students and families through intervention and advocacy, contact us by visiting the link in our bio.

We originally planned to share these earlier in the month. But here’s the truth: Black history isn’t confined to a single month on the calendar. Culturally rich, representative books aren’t seasonal additions — they are essential, everyday standards.

These stories — The Oldest Student, The Story of Jackie Robinson, That Is My Dream!, Inventions to Count On, and Harlem’s Little Blackbird — deserve to live on our shelves and in our conversations all year long.

So yes — this post may be “late.”
But the learning is always on time. 🤏🏾

Save this list. Share it with a teacher. Add one to your home library.

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

What better day to reflect on leadership and service than today?

Last week, Right To Read had the opportunity to participate in the at Harvard Business School—an experience that was grounding, inspiring, and deeply meaningful. Being in community with other social entrepreneurs reminded us that while our missions may look different, our commitment to equity, service, and impact is shared.

As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.” We’re grateful for the , and for the safe space created to not only be seen, but for reflection, learning, and connection.

We are excited to carry these lessons with us—continuing the work and bringing them back to the communities we’re committed to serving.
