And just like that, we have 16 THRIVE Scholars from the graduating Class of 2024 headed to their respective HBCUs.

When they became THRIVE Scholars in 2022 during their sophomore year, they put in the work that we prescribed; they listened; they showed up; they met deadlines; they were invested; they toured HBCUs; they did not waiver; and they thrived in the program and will THRIVE in college!

We are so proud of them as they prepare to attend and graduate from their HBCUs.💜

In January 2020, we sat in the same space with a pilot group of 20 scholars from South Early College High School to kick off the program year for a new program called THRIVE!

January 2024, year 5, we are still at it. We are 100% volunteer driven, and our volunteers keep coming back! They have an imprint in THRIVE. Interested in volunteering on the 4th Saturday of the month (excluding July & August) and/or being a
volunteer program coordinator, advisor or mentor?

Our numbers have grown from 20 to close to 200. We accept no more than 100 sophomores each year from around the Houston metro area. Some scholars need sponsors to cover the one-time program fee especially if their high school or district won’t cover the minimal fee. Let us know if you are interested in being a sponsor.
