We were honored to support the Candidate Forum & Community Mixer for Precinct 5, Place 2 & invited by the event’s organizer, .
Our founder, Dr. Dabrina Sandifer, served as moderator facilitating a powerful and thoughtful conversation centering housing stability, accountability, court practices, and community voice. We had community members, supporters, additional community partners, and candidates in attendance with incumbent Judge Bob Wolfe, , , and Mark Fury on our candidate panel.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, engaged, and leaned into the dialogue. These conversations matter.

We’re filled with gratitude for everyone who participated in and supported the 2025 Uprise Experience: Houston Black Theatre Week! 💫
We closed out the week by honoring four incredible theatre makers (Mrs. Ida Thompson, Julio Peterson III., Terrie L. Donald, and Yvonne Phillips-Dupree) whose artistry and impact continue to uplift our community. The evening overflowed with beauty, joy, and celebration.
During the event, Esurient Arts proudly announced our ✨Yvonne Phillips-Dupree Professional Development & Access Fellowship✨, inspired by and named after one of this year’s honorees, the incomparable Yvonne Phillips-Dupree.
