The numbers don’t lie, but behind every number is a woman, a family, and a story.
In 2025, an estimated 316,950 women in the United States and 22,039 women in Texas were expected to be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer.
The latest available data also show that approximately 2.4 million women are diagnosed worldwide, while Harris County averages 2,869 diagnoses each year.
And every 13 seconds, another woman somewhere in the world hears the words, “You have breast cancer.”
These are more than statistics. They are mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, coworkers, and members of our community. Awareness matters. Screening matters. Access to timely, quality care matters.
Know your risk. Pay attention to changes in your body. Speak with a healthcare professional about the screening schedule that is right for you, and encourage someone you love to do the same.
