❤️ Help Save Tanveer Alam Munshi: Support His Fight for Life
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,
We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your prayers and financial support for our dear Bangladeshi friend, Mr. Tanveer Alam Munshi, a Ph.D. candidate( Petroleum Engineering)at the University of Houston.
On August 24, 2026, Tanveer suffered a sudden cardiac arrest that left him fighting for his life. Since then, he has experienced two cardiac arrests and three strokes, leaving him in an extremely critical condition.
Tanveer is currently receiving intensive medical care at Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. His heart is unable to function independently, and he has been supported by ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) and an Impella heart pump. These life-support devices, along with continuous intensive care, are essential to sustaining his life.
🙏 Why We Need Your Help
Tanveer’s prolonged hospitalization and critical medical condition may create an enormous financial burden. Although he has health insurance, his treatment involves substantial out-of-pocket expenses, including copays, deductibles, and medical services that may not be fully covered by insurance.
As an international Ph.D. student, Tanveer and his family are facing an incredibly difficult situation, both emotionally and financially. We hope to ease their financial burden so they can focus on supporting him during this critical period.

With the full consent of Tanveer’s family, we have established this GoFundMe campaign to help cover his medical and related care expenses.
Your donations will help support:
• Hospitalization, intensive care, and medical treatment expenses.
• Insurance copays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket costs.
• Essential medical services and care-related expenses not covered by insurance.
In the unfortunate event that Tanveer does not survive, any remaining or additional funds may also be used to support his final arrangements, including religious rites and the repatriation of his remains to Bangladesh, in accordance with his family’s wishes.
🤝 Who Is Organizing This Fundraiser?
This fundraising campaign is being organized and managed by Md Shaikot Alam Shakil, President of the University of Houston Graduate Student Association of Bangladesh (UH GSAB), with the full consent of Tanveer’s family.
Tanveer’s Ph.D. supervisor, Dr. Kyung Jae Lee, and Md Shaikot Alam Shakil have been authorized by his family to receive, manage, and utilize the funds raised solely for Tanveer’s medical and related care expenses and, if necessary, the final arrangements described above.
Dr. Kyung Jae Lee will serve as the U.S. beneficiary and fund administrator on behalf of Tanveer’s family.
Because GoFundMe does not support direct transfers to Bangladesh, the funds will be deposited into a U.S. bank account established specifically for this fundraiser. Dr. Lee will administer the funds on behalf of Tanveer and his family, including paying related expenses in the United States and transferring the remaining funds to his family in Bangladesh.
