Once upon a time, Marine Reserve-run Toys for Tots got help from the animator and businessman who created some of the most iconic children’s films of the 20th century.

More than seven decades ago, Walt Disney and his studio designed the original logo for Toys for Tots, an initiative that helps Santa deliver toys to children in low-income families, according to a Wednesday Disney press release about its annual Toys for Tots drive.

As Toys for Tots enters its 75th year, the iconic train image that Disney designed is still part of the logo.

Toys for Tots has used the Walt Disney-designed train logo for almost the entirety of its 75-year history.

The Marine Corps’ path to greater gender-integration at boot camp has been fraught with fears that turned out to be unfounded.

In 2015, a Marine spokesman said in a statement that recruits, who arrived on the yellow footprints with “immature, undeveloped and unfocused thoughts,” had to train divided by gender to limit distractions and bond with their same-gender drill instructor role model.

The Corps isn't following the recommended path, amid fears that total integration will cause it to lose its competitive edge for making the best warriors.

A former U.S. military pilot and flight instructor who ran an aviation consultancy in China is in custody in Australia awaiting an extradition request from his homeland on an undisclosed charge, officials said Wednesday.

Daniel Edmund Duggan, who says he is a former U.S. Marine Corps major, was refused bail when he appeared last Friday in Orange Local Court in the New South Wales state rural town of Orange northwest of Sydney, court records show.

Australian Federal Police arrested him that day “pursuant to a request from the United States,” a police statement said.

Australia has been investigating whether any of its military veterans had been recruited to work for the Chinese air force.

Veterans Affairs officials have already received nearly 113,000 new disability claims related to the sweeping toxic exposure legislation signed into law less than three months ago, an indication of the potential impact of the measure and the work ahead for the department. Benefits officials began accepting claims for all presumptive illnesses included in the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act (better known as the PACT Act) after it was signed into law by President Joe Biden on Aug. 10.

VA officials have urged all vets who believe they are eligible for the new benefits to apply soon.
