Party plug jump is partnering with Say No More Inc. to offer two $500 dollar scholarships to two GRADUATING SENIORS who have displayed great leadership and ability to overcome adversity.  All qualified candidates please submit a one page essay to [email protected] telling us about why you deserve the scholarship and give examples of adversity you have faced and had to overcome. Juneteenth 2021!

Fun Fact: When freedpeople tried to celebrate the first anniversary of the announcement a year later they faced a problem: Segregation laws were expanding rapidly, so their were no public places or parks they were permitted to use. In the 1870s, former enslaved people pooled together $800 and purchased 10 acres of land which we know today as “Emancipation Park” located in Third Ward Houston, TX. Until the 1950s, it was the only public park and swimming pool in the Houston area that was open to African Americans.
