We are so proud of Justin! He has done so much for our organization while having both hands tied behind his back. He is on his way home in almost to years. While that seems like a long time to those of us in the free world, the days in prison are long and slow but the weeks, months and years are gone so much quicker.

📣 Hey everyone! I wanted to take a moment to talk about the fundamental value of integrity in our nonprofit organization, Prison to Prosperity Advocacy Movement. As advocates for incarcerated people, we believe that integrity serves as the backbone of our work.

đź’” It's disheartening to learn about other nonprofit organizations that claim to advocate for the same impacted citizens we serve, only to discover that they are corrupt and part of the very problems they speak out against. It's mind-blowing to think that some organizations would exploit the vulnerable instead of genuinely supporting them.

🙌 At Prison to Prosperity Advocacy Movement, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity. We believe in transparency, accountability, and authenticity in all our actions. Our mission is to bring about positive change and empower incarcerated individuals to rebuild their lives.

🤝 We understand the trust placed in us by the incarcerated community, their families, and our supporters. We want to assure you that we will always remain true to our values and never compromise our integrity. We will continue to fight for justice, fairness, and equal opportunities for all.

🌟 Together, let's stand against the heartbreaking reality of corrupt nonprofit organizations. Let's work towards a future where integrity is the norm, and advocacy truly makes a difference. Join us in our mission to transform lives and create a society that believes in second chances.

I have learned that a state chapter of a nationally recognized nonprofit organization is selling “memberships” to incarcerated people if they want to attend meetings with them held at the prison. In other words this organization is asking homeless, unemployed people for the few pennies they have to support their organization. Any organization that puts their hand out to incarcerated people is sus. Especially when they have nothing tangible to measure their worth to incarcerated people besides their foggy claims they help them. This goes against every bit of integrity within P2PAM. If any organization is asking you or our loved ones for money the answer should be no.

The Supreme Court has ruled it’s perfectly constitutional to execute actually innocent people. Why? Because “finality” of the underlying conviction—even if wrong—is most important.

It is my opinion that MO DOC’s counsel missed the point. If a potential juror is biased against a particular person based on their sexuality and the case is premised on someone’s sexuality that potential juror should be excused from the jury pool. That simple! It is a high probability that juror would not be able to see the forest through the trees.

Discriminators getting discriminated against is the real discrimination!

I like to recommend resources to people who are in the dark when it comes to our prisons in the United States. Prisons create more criminals than they house. It’s an infiltration of crimes beyond our comprehension. I find it hard to believe this Director of the Mississippi Department of Corrections is a lone wolf. I think the FBI needs to investigate every single prison system.

The root causes of most wrongful convictions can be attributed to a few recurring issues: prosecutorial misconduct, such as withholding evidence, making improper jury arguments, or using coercive tactics; dishonest law enforcement officers; and unreliable informants. Consequently, it is crucial that whenever an individual is exonerated, there should be a presumption that those responsible for the misconduct will face severe consequences. However, it is disheartening to observe that such accountability is rarely enforced, regardless of the severity or obviousness of the misconduct. This pattern highlights a fundamental flaw in our criminal justice system, where harsh punishments are often reserved for those on the outside, while insiders receive endless forgiveness. It is no surprise that the system struggles to gain respect when it fails to deserve it.

My experience with incarcerated people who are serving a sentence for something that occurred when they were not yet legally an adult, barely considered legally an adult or simply just someone else decades prior to now has shown me an entirely new perspective about people. People, no matter what, do change. People outgrow prison then become frozen in time after serving an exponential time in prison. The reality is such people no longer or never did in the first place feed the narrative that prisons keep communities safer. Mandatory minimums are baseless when measuring crime rates, recidivism and rehabilitation.
