Community Alert: Donovan Park Vandalized🚨

Donovan Park has been the victim of repeated vandalism over the past week! Last week, vandals ripped the park's front gate from its hinges, causing approximately $1,600 in damage. We worked quickly to repair the gate and keep the park open for the families, children, and neighbors who enjoy this special community space every day.

Unfortunately, the gate was vandalized again on Tuesday night! This time we anticipate this latest round of repairs will cost an additional $1,700+

A police report has been filed with Constable Precinct 1, and we are asking for the community's help. If you see something, hear something, or witness any suspicious activity around the park, please report it. Even the smallest detail could help identify those responsible and prevent further damage.
Repeated acts of vandalism not only damage the park but also take valuable resources away from improvements, maintenance, and programs that benefit our community.

Summer reading isn’t just for kids!

The Houston Public Library’s Summer Reading Program has something for the whole family, from babies and beginning readers all the way to teens and adults.

Kids in K–12 can earn prizes just for reading 20 minutes a day for 30 days, plus entries for awesome grand prizes like bikes, LEGO sets, and book collections! Adults can join too by reading 30 minutes a day for 30 days for a chance to win prizes including a Kindle Scribe and Kindle Fire.

Families with little ones can also participate in the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program to help build early literacy skills all year long.
