NEW FOR OHIO 4-H!

Ohio 4-H is excited to introduce the Chicken & Turkey Barbecue Contest for senior 4-H members ages 14–18!

📅 October 3, 2026

For our first year, participants will take part in a workshop in the morning and a mock contest in the afternoon to learn the National 4-H Poultry and Egg Conference contest format, understand scoring and expectations, improve food preparation techniques, and put their skills to the test.

🏆 Represent Ohio at Nationals!
Following the 2026 program, one Chicken BBQ participant and one Turkey BBQ participant will be selected to represent Ohio at the National 4-H Poultry and Egg Conference!
National Contest Dates: November 18-19, 2026

The day will include:
- Contest overview and barbecue demonstration
- Mock Chicken & Turkey BBQ Contest
- Judges discussion and feedback
- Winner announcement

DRUG USE NOTIFICATION FORMS
DUNFs must be completed prior to crossing the scales at check-in.

Please follow instructions! If you complete your form and in reviewing your completed confirmation email, you find an error, you must go in and correct the error with a new form immediately.

Rabbit exhibitors only list the animals your are showing. Rabbit and Chickens exhibitors will complete one form for all animals in the pen. Poultry must wait until animals are leg banded.

Need to be completed prior to weigh-ins for the animals you are exhibiting. Specifics can be found with the insturctions. https://fayette.osu.edu/program-areas/4-h-youth-development/fayette-county-jr-fair

General Rule (Page 71, 72 of 2025 Fayette County Jr. Fair Rule Book) states:
All Junior Fair market exhibitors must complete an Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) Drug Use Notification Form to be eligible to exhibit and/or sell at the Fayette County Junior Fair for each market livestock project. Completed Drug Use Notification Forms must be turned in when the exhibitor’s market animal is weighed at the Junior Fair weigh-in.
ODA Exhibition Drug Residue Legal: All livestock shall be exhibition drug residue legal (EDRL) prior to the start of the show in which the livestock is entered into for exhibition. This includes market, non-terminal, open, and breeding classes. This means that all exhibition livestock:
• must be slaughter eligible at time of show;
• have only been administered an approved drug, for which the withdrawal time has elapsed and met tolerance;
• have not been administered an unapproved drug;
• do not contain an unlawful substance.
