Habitat for Humanity Cape May

Do you or someone you know have trouble getting in and out the front door? We can help!

We install temporary ramps for homeowners across Cape May County who need better access to their homes. Each ramp stays in place for six months, giving you time to plan a permanent solution.

With a ramp in place, you can stay in the home you've made, next to the neighbors you know, and get to appointments, errands and visits without waiting on someone to help with the steps.

Applications are open to buy a home with Habitat.

If buying in Cape May County has felt out of reach for you or someone you know, take another look. Families making up to $82,160 may qualify to purchase this home.

Here's how it works. You buy the home from us at an affordable price, with a mortgage set to what you can actually pay. You put in hours working alongside our crew and our volunteers before you move in. It's a purchase, not a giveaway, and the affordability is set based on your family's income.

If you're renovating a kitchen or clearing a house for demolition, call our Decon Crew before the dumpster arrives.

Our volunteers and staff carefully remove cabinets, appliances and other household items that still have plenty of use left in them, and take them to the ReStore.

Less to haul away means lower dump fees for you. Every item sold at the ReStore helps fund workforce housing right here in Cape May County.

Opportunity starts with a home.

Today is World Habitat Day, the United Nations' yearly reminder that everyone has a right to a safe, affordable place to live.

That's true in Cape May County, and it's true around the world. The Habitat for Humanity network is building in all 50 states and about 70 countries to help make that a reality in communities like ours.

The homes look different everywhere we work. What's behind them is the same: neighbors building with neighbors.

Let's open the door to affordability, opportunity and stability, right here at home.

Today we remember President Jimmy Carter on his birthday.

For nearly forty years he volunteered on Habitat build sites alongside Rosalynn, framing walls and hanging drywall next to the families who would live in those homes. He never treated it as a photo op. He treated it as important work and service to others.

We're still doing that work in his memory and he continues to inspire us to live a life of serving others.
