We had a bit of a different meeting on last week. We were joined by Bob Russell and Jeff Garringer of the Fayette County Historical Society.

Bob, who is also a deputy with the Fayette County Sheriff's Office gave a presentation to the trailmen about the 1894 Riot in Washington C.H. In December the boys were able to see the courthouse and the bullet holes in the doors. This meeting we learned about the story behind it.

Thanks Deputy Russell

We backpacked at Lake Vesuvius this weekend. 8 mile loop, 4 in Saturday and 4 out Sunday. Everything you need on your back.

These boys are crazy, but a lot of fun too.

If interested, join us at Heritage Church in Washington CH on 9/19 @ 630 P.M.

It's that time of year. Come and join us at Trail Life. Here are a few highlights of our last year.

Meetings are the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30 at Heritage Church. Find us at the shelter house.

We hit the trail every month and camp 4-5 times per year.

Open to boys K-High school, but we are really looking for K-5 range. Contact Jess Weade for more info.

Have girls - American Heritage Girls meets at the same time and at Heritage as well.

Hope to see you on September 5th

I didn't get a ton of pictures, but we had fun this weekend camping at Tar Hollow. Stayed dry (mostly), these boys ate A LOT (as they grow our food budget goes way up).

A great hike led by Naturalist Amy, and some good shooting at the archery range, plus a little scouting of the backpack trail for a future excursion.

The best time to join Trail Life is . . .
Anytime!

But, realistically, if your son joins in August/September, you get the most out of the program.

If you are interested in putting your boy in a Christ centered, boy focused mentoring journey, come check us out this Thursday (8/11 or next (8/18). See us in a meeting, put your boy right in the middle of it, and see what we are all about.

Tonight our Trailmen learned about manners and their importance. We wrote Thank you cards, set a table, had a bible lesson with our chaplain, Justin Siler, learned to tie a necktie.

We had our Court of Honor last night. Thanks to all who made it and Congratulations to all the Trailmen that received their badges, Branch Pins, Sylvan Stars, and Navigator Badges.

Special congrats to our Trailmen, Eli and Truett, that received the Timberline award, and Ryley who received the Mountain Lion Worthy Life Award.

We had five Trailmen graduate from Mountain Lion to Navigators and we look forward to watching all of our trailmen continue to grow.

May you all continue to Walk Worthy.
