With a heart full of gratitude and a garden overflowing with nature’s goodness, we welcome our service members to gather with us today—a place where friendship grows, laughter is shared, and love is always in abundance. Come enjoy the simple gifts of community, including lovingly donated farm-fresh eggs, gathered and given with appreciation for those who have given so much. 🌱🥚❤️

Calling all farmers, homesteaders, bakers, etc.

We have 82 CASES of plantains that have been delivered to Military Chow Hall Food Pantry located at 212 E. Elm St. Please come and take some. Bake, boil, fry or feed them to your farm animals. ❤️

Ripeness Stages and Uses-

💚 Green (Unripe): Hard and starchy with a neutral flavor similar to a potato; ideal for slicing and frying into crispy tostones or chips, or boiling and mashing.

💛 Yellow (Ripe): Softer with a mild sweetness; excellent for pan-frying until caramelized.

🖤 Black (Very Ripe): Soft, dark-skinned, and very sweet; used primarily in sweet baked or fried side dishes and desserts.Nutrition and

Rich source of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and B vitamins.

💪🏻 Minerals: High in essential potassium.

🌿🍽️ You're Invited! 🍽️🌿

Join us Saturday, August 29th, from 1:00–4:00 PM at Southside Church of Christ
📍 921 S. Fayette Street, Washington Court House

This month's hot meal features a delicious Chicken Primavera, made even more special with fresh vegetables grown right here in our own community garden. It's a wonderful reminder of what can happen when neighbors come together to grow, share, and care for one another.

As always, all veterans and first responders eat free and we kindly ask for a $5 donation from members of the community. Every meal shared helps strengthen the programs and partnerships that support our veterans and our community.

We're also excited to introduce our new Garden Bucks Initiative! 🌱

This program is designed to connect our military heroes and service members with local farmers, gardeners, bakers, and homesteaders—supporting both those who have served and the incredible people who grow, create, and give back right here at home. Together, we're cultivating stronger communities, one meal and one harvest at a time.

We're open today from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM, and we can't wait to see all your smiling faces!

We know we've been a little quiet on social media lately, so thank you for your patience as we continue to grow—literally! 🍅🍆🥔🫑🌶️🪏 Our community garden is flourishing, and so are the opportunities to serve more veterans and neighbors through the Military Chow Hall.
