USVMC Washington Courthouse took on Nationals in Tulsa this weekend!
This is what it's all about. While in Tulsa we were privileged enough to sponsor and get to know a Gold Star family. Lana is the widow of SFC William Mosteiro. They met in South Korea and were married after in her home country of Russia. They loved traveling and seeing the world. William was only 42 and nearing the end of his second tour of duty in Iraq when he died Wednesday, February 14, 2007. He died in Baghdad from injuries suffered the day before when he was struck by a sniper in Taji, Iraq. William was a father, son, husband and great friend to all who knew him and is still very missed to this day.
You hear stories all the time about soldiers that are killed in the line of duty and unfortunately way to many of us know what it's like, but sitting down and talking to the families, seeing pictures and hearing their stories, there's nothing like it.
So from the bottom of our hearts in WCH we thank each and every one of you who have donated to the chapter, came to our events or in anyway have supported us throughout the years to make it possible to help other veteran families. God Bless.
